Unable to use mouse / keyboard controls

After a long time of not playing BF2042 I decided to reinstall the game. So after downloading and installing I tried to run the game, hop into a lobby and then I noticed my controls with mouse and keyboard arent even working

It feels very laggy when trying to move the mouse or shoot my gun.

I´ve also noticed when I am in the main menu I have to press for example "O" a bit longer for the options to trigger.

Actually it is unplayable for me since mouse and keyboard are not working.

Are there any solutions for this?

Which keyboard do you have? Battlefield has issues with keyboards that poll over 1,000Hz. Something to try if you have such a keyboard is plugging it into an external USB 2.0 hub, which forces it's polling rate lower. 1,000Hz to be exact.

There's a global/mouse&keyboard setting in Battlefield called Mouse Raw Input that might help.

If you have a Nvidia GPU you can enable Nvidia Reflex in video settings to lower input lag.

Dude!!!! This was the final solution :D

I do have the glorious gmmk 3 and the polling rate was von 8,000Hz. I´ve set it down to 1000Hz replugged the keyboard into the same USB port and everything is working fine.

Thank you so much for your help!!!!

First at all thanks for your reply

There are no controllers plugged in. Only my wireless mouse and keyboard. I´ve also tried it out with a mouse with cable attached but that doesn´t change anything

I´ve also deleten the bf folder in Documents and disabled the screen overlays.

Funny thing is: I can write in ingame chat normally. But when it comes to controls it feels like there is a huge delay. For example I press the mouse once for 1-2 seconds which would normally result in a burst of your weapon but it completely fires my magazine.

  • Is there any Xbox, PlayStation, joysticks, or similar controllers plugged in? If so try unplugging them.

You can also try deleting or moving the Battlefield 2042 folder in Documents to reset the game controls and saved game settings to default.

Another thing to try is disabling any on screen overlays such as Steam, Discord, or EA app overlays.
