Battlefield 6 Beta Feedback – My Personal Opinion

I’ve been playing Battlefield games for a long time — from Battlefield Play4Free, Battlefield Heroes, BF3, BF4, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield V. So I’m speaking here purely from my own perspective as someone who’s been around the series for a while.

Overall Gameplay Feel
The game feels much faster than previous entries. Movement-wise, it almost feels like Apex Legends at times — at least from what I’m seeing on my screen. The movement penalty after a slide doesn’t feel strong enough. There were plenty of moments where I could whip into a slide near a corner, immediately jump, and then crouch — all within a split second — making it very hard for opponents to track or hit me.

I get that this isn’t Squad, and I don’t want it to be, but slides and dives should mainly be tools to get into cover, not to aggressively assault enemy positions.

Tone vs. Movement
From the outside, the game looks meaty and gritty — and in many ways it is — but the high-mobility movement system undercuts that feeling. To balance this:

Make destruction more resistant to RPGs and grenades, so cover can be used more strategically before it’s destroyed.
Slightly reduce movement speed to make advancing on a defended position riskier.

Right now, it’s surprisingly easy to push a position with current run speeds, and while smoke grenades are great for revives, I’ve rarely seen them used to help teammates cross between covers — probably because the mobility makes it less necessary.

Bugs Encountered

Vaulting over cover sometimes launches you a few feet into the air.
Had a match where all my weapons were invisible except my primary for half the game.
In the same match, I got stuck with the “downed” audio loop until the end.

That’s my take so far. There’s a lot I enjoy, but I think slowing the movement slightly and tweaking cover durability would go a long way toward making fights feel more in line with the gritty tone the visuals promise.
