This post confuses me... Find a starter weapon you like, play it, level it, eventually unlock another weapon you like.... repeat. the fact that weapons arnt locked to 'type' dosnt realy change things. the idea of having to level up a specific weapon type so 'that you can use the same weapon as everyone else is disgustingly unrewarding' to me. honestly, the idea of a 'META' weapon bothers me more. this is battlefield. let me play how i want.
It's only confusing if you didn't play it and I never said it was a great game, I'm saying to be able to get any gun in the game but leveling up your account like a role playing game is dumb.
By the way... in OG bf2042 you did NOT get all the weapons by leveling up your rank, a massive portion could only be unlocked by completing milestones with other weapons (or buying a pack;) for example: to unlock weapon X you had to get Y headshots with weapon Z (and sometimes additional requirements with other weapons.) This meant you had to earn the best weapons.
