EA continues to think where's the players
SMG. 50 meters. Headshot? Through wall? No zoom scope.
You completely killed the gameplay. People are literally binding both Fire and ADS (Aim Down Sights) to Mouse 1 and playing like they’re holding a lightsaber.
Step by step, you keep adding new imbalanced, one-shot mechanics just to squeeze the last drop of life out of Battlefield.
This "one-second-gameplay" meta can’t be saved, even by awesome maps. People have been playing Operation Metro since the BF3 era not because they love grenade spam, but because they want predictable enemy positions. Those maps give you a single, clear danger zone. On the Vegas map, people crowd around the sinkhole in 10v10 fights for the exact same reason—the enemy comes from just ONE direction (i personally dont like one direction, but also dont like 10 directions/windows/holes/roofs). There could be 10 dangerous directions - but you fill 24 player map by 64 people, and all that directions is firing simultaneonsly. They aren't even playing the game anymore; they’re just playing "let's try to get a kill," lol.
Breakthrough and Rush are popular because of the lower player count, and because the out-of-bounds red zones prevent you from getting shot in the back. But people absolutely hate your "10,000 enemies per square meter" design. Yet, you still haven't implemented a way to create servers with smaller player counts—we need 32-player options. So, players hate it, but they keep playing anyway. And then you wonder where the player base went?
If you want to avoid a total mechanical overhaul for older, less reactive players, the best thing you could do is increase movement speed (including ADS strafe) by 2.5 times and remove the respawn delay entirely. Then people can at least play it like Quake.
I’ve actually run into people who genuinely think Battlefield 2042 was better... bleep, it’s the exact same balance—laserguns and a literal rat race. They never even experienced real Battlefield, where you'd have tactical 2v2 skirmishes over a single capture point. They don't even know what it means to play a game slowly.
