We wanted the movement slowed down. We didn't want people sliding around on their knees as fast as they could run. We didn't want people sliding up hills and up stairs. We didn't want people sliding and shooting accurately.
They took that to mean movement of everything slowed down. So now the turrets turn slower.

If that were true, the aimming speeds would be the aim for third vs first. But they arent. Third is clearly faster.

Aim speed in third person is not locked to the turret speed. Aim in third person is simply limited to your mouse/controller speed. Try it youself. Whip your aim around, stop, and watch your turret slowly catch up.
In first person, aim is limited to turret speed.
Either way, the turret is only as fast as the turret turns. Whether you see the screen move fast or slow, depends on the view, but the turret speed remains the same. In season 2, they slowed the turret down.
