According to google search (AI summary you get at the top) that it takes 1,500 to 1,500 kills per weapon (or roughly 2,500-3,000 "weapon XP" per weapon).
Someone on Reddit did some calculations (his post got over 3 thousand likes) and his numbers seem closer to what I think the numbers really are.
He worked out that it takes weapon XP equivalent to about 2,500 kills, to max out a single gun:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield6/comments/1ocmear/unacceptable_grind_it_takes_3000_hours_to_unlock/
So, if you get 10 kills per game it takes about 5,600 hours in-game time (this varies a little by various factors, such as length of game etc, but the numbers seem reasonable) to max out just one weapon and unlock all the attachments.
Considering that there eare 42 weapons in the game, if you get an average of about 20 kills per game, it would take about 2,790 hours to max out all weapons and unlock all attachments on them.
If you get an average of 15 kills per game it would take about 3,700 hours.
You can get an idea of the amount of time you'd need to spend in the game grinding weapon XP.
OR you could buy a "weapon pack" for about $5-$20 and get two or three of the attachments unlocked.
And no, they won't tell you which attachments you'll get, only which gun you'll get, so get ready to buy heaps of gun packs until you get at least some of the attachments you want (generally the higher the price the better the gun and more attachments unlocked).
But hey, that was their plan all along - sell weapon packs to save people hundreds of hours of pointles and completely unfun grindfest.
BUT people said, you know what, if your game is good maybe I'll buy one or two of them just to see (and to save hundreds of hours of grinding) but the game isn't good anymore and people just said:
"NO - that's enough of this xxxx" and I must say i agree with them, and I'll be trading my disc for something else soon (I've gone all digital with my games, mostly for convenience, but for the first time in at least ten years I bought this game on disc, because I heard some horror stories, which ended up being true).
What a bloody mess ...

I agree 100% This game is not fun at all. Dice wants the game to be really chaotic and sweaty instead of making the game fun. I'll take BF3 over this piece of BF6 crap!!!
Holiday game release window hit, streamer influence window passed, and the general post launch dust has settled.
With a constant stream of games always releasing you just can't really see a single game retain a huge audience for long unless it's a total anomaly.
It's not so much a reflection of the game, but imo the gamer. You play a few matches you get what you want out of the experience and its on to the next thing. Those who stay are gonna be the hardcores, the lasting community members, those kinds. Everyone else probably is checking it out cause XYZ streamer's playing it and they wanna be involved, maybe they got it for christmas, maybe they were just curious about the hype at launch. Perhaps it didnt stick or their fave streamer or friends moved on to other stuff, and thats ok.

Or, you give EA money and buy a bundle of stuff with cash... this is not by accident, this grind was deliberate from the beginning.

The hype was real, and many of my mates who used to play BF2 (2005)/3/4 era actually purchased BF6, hoping for a proper Conquest experience, nice City Maps layouts, decent BR in BF's universe.
Instead, what panned out in BF6 are Domination and King of the Hill, perhaps Escalation.
The number of bugs and minor issues prevented me from playing BF6 weekly. I do not want to be frustrated by the lack of polish/limited playtests, and issues.
If mates continue to accuse me of undermining the flow of the teamplay... what can I say about interrupted revives, object glitching, swapped loadouts, major visual glitches, bugged menus, lack of responsiveness while spamming a key button?
Sorry, I cannot play the game in such shape or form.
Stating that a favourite streamer moved to another game caused players to drop is an understatement. We are not 12 anymore. My generation worships hard work, getting a paycheck that may go to the family budget, and the business. If I ever left my work in such a state as some of the game releases (I don't work for the gov), then I wouldn`t have left anything for a piece of bread.
Many of the original BF devs released a game that has been more consistently successful. So what, again, streamers are to be blamed? I do not think I was left with the same Community experience, Conquest maps as in previous BFs. Even BR feels undercooked without Solos, Trios, and no Proximity Chat.

Not with quick lobbies, maybe some players who do mixes on their private servers.

Why in the hell would I give anymore money to EA for a F'ed up game. That would be "MORONIC" ROFLMFAO!!! I already feel I got ripped off!!

Did you expect the game to have a million of active players constantly? Give me a break. Also, why on earth any regular player would care about these numbers? The maximum capacity of the server is 64 players, not 100 000 or 100 000 000. As far as we have someone to play with, it's okay. Honestly, I'm tired of the "diz game dead" public. Every single time when new Battlefield comes out, I hear this "player count dropped, oh my god". So what? It happens to every game, especially when the majority of gamers is constantly jumping onto a new popular thing. Today they drool over Battlefield, tomorrow it's Arc Raiders, then it's something else.

I know, I know, but the numbers don't lie, people are handing over even more cash to the tune of $3Bn (announced yesterday).
