I experience what you describe, but I don't agree that it makes it easy to kill people. In fact, most people who have mentioned aim assist slow down, myself included, say that it actually makes it harder to aim since you're fighting against the slow down. So there really is no true aim assist like COD, and I think it's important that people understand that. It's a slow down, but it feels more like something is slowly pulling my reticle, which messes up my aim. I'll be trying to kill the guy peeking, and my reticle starts pulling to side, trying to "assist" my aim to the guy behind cover.
That's my point, it's too strong to the point I can't see an enemy but I can feel his presence because of the aim assist slow down. Also when sniping if a few people run around in my cross hairs they get dragged all over. I agree it can hinder the aiming.
