Air Vehicles Have Zero Weight and Too Much Responsiveness.

My background in Battlefield games consists of BF2, BF4, BFI, and BF2042; and primarily playing engineer/heli pilot. After trying out the helicopter and jet in Battlefield 6, I can say pretty confidently this is just cut and paste code from Battlefield 2042. The air vehicles feel like drones with zero weight and floaty movement. Contrast that to Battlefield 4, where air vehicles had a decent heft to them and you really had to fight the momentum of the aircraft to do the correct maneuvers. It felt more like a skill check, and talented pilots were rewarded. I want the game to be accessible for all players to play and have fun, but this change to “easier” air vehicles has me disappointed. I’d love to see a change to decrease responsiveness and add some weight. As it stands right now this really kills my drive to play the game.

I’m curious what everyone else thinks and if this is a hit or miss in your opinion. For me it’s a major miss, and from what I’ve seen online most of the player base did not like the air changes in 2042.

  • I agree with the copy pasta from 2042.  I also agree that starting with BF1, air and vehicle gameplay has declined and not really recovered yet.

In my opinion, BF6 feels a bit better than 2042 in terms of weightiness, but that is primarily due to the greater sense of inertia I am feeling... as such, trying balance speed and rate of turn will have to be relearned here... I think AA range and damage has been significantly buffed and for now, I just need more time to formulate my thoughts.

Thanks for sharing and see you on the Battlefield!
