I thought the 205 was an alright weapon honestly. I found that it had a poor damage profile (which 90% of the BF6 weapons suffer from, damage profiles should be curves not steps.) but I found it to be reliably accurate.
The bullet speed might be throwing you off if you have been using a 1000m/s weapon recently. I've had that issue sometimes while testing guns.
I'd suggest building it for range. The comp break actually helps on the 205 in comparison to the nothing it does on others.
