Ban

Yesterday I reported a  player for text chat harassment and offensive lanquage, he started calling his team  noobs and when some of his teammates told him to chill a bit he started making really offensive comments about their mothers, cursing all over, using the f-word to everyone and finally leaving the lobby.

The response to this from EA:

Hello,

Thank you for reporting your concern and helping make our Battlefield 6 community a positive place to play.

We reviewed your report and didn’t take any action this time.

HERE’S WHY:

Our well-trained, dedicated team reviewed your report, supported by automation tools and established policies and processes and didn't take any action this time. You may also receive this email if the content you reported has already been reported by other users and is now under review.

We investigate the context before deciding if reported content or accounts follow the guidelines in our Positive Play Charter and the rules in our User Agreement . Sometimes, a single comment in a broader conversation—or an opinion that differs extremely from yours—may not be a violation.

If this was a voice chat report, we don’t currently support voice data or recordings in all of our games or languages so we can't always take action on voice chat. We're still working on the best way to review reported voice chats for more of our games.

REMEMBER:

In-game, you can mute or block players who are ruining your fun and breaking the rules.

If you are attempting to report illegal activity or content on our platform and have received this response, please see here for more information on how to escalate reports of potential unlawful activity. Your reference number for this report is: 2…….

Please don’t be discouraged from reporting concerns in the future. Your reports contribute to the positive community we’re building. Even if we didn’t take action this time, reporting helps us improve our systems and make sure that we’re keeping things fun, fair, and safe for all.

Thanks,
EA Help

So if that’s what they call “positive place to play ” in their “positive play charter” then they fail miserably and yes now I believe that they don’t ban anyone anymore due to their low playerbase numbers.

What you saw was some guy crashing out for one game.

What EA likely saw was the last 10 games the guy had where he didn't even say anything at all.

Additionally, insulting peoples mothers is kind of the typical thing.  Unless it's a threat, IE "I will do (thing) to your mother!", then there's not really a problem.

And lastly, why should using foul language be a bannable offense?  Sure, it isn't professional, it can be rude and sometimes even downright childish.  But who should be banned for using the "f-word" in a game that is rated 18+ and it's primary content is people killing one another?

I watched a guy tell another Spanish speaker last night that he eats at taco bell.  That was probably more offensive than any "your mother" kind of joke.  I will say though, it was insanely funny.

I don’t care if that guy was crashing for one game,

Making an assumption on your end, that EA checked the last 10 games just proves my point, do you know for a fact that they go back 10 games or just saying?

Typical or no typical doesn’t give that right to anyone above 18+ to behave like this and maybe foy you is not a problem but it is for others.

And lastly Painknight since according to you it shouldn’t be bannable (and don’t just focus on the f-word) that next time we meet in a lobby and  I start saying things about  your mother don’t report me, suck it all in and don’t say anything)

The point of this post was to show that EA bends their own rules as they see fit case by case and not have a strict policy across the board.

  • EA rarely ban for one offs they do go back and check previous game chats, everything is recorded and kept by EA.

So maybe toughen up a little bit

So maybe you shouldn’t turn a blind eye when a violation of the rules happens and support the abuser.

And NO according to EA/help, records may be kept, but a violation in a single match is bannable no need to check previous games. In your argument if I cheat rarely im all right off the hook.. lol stupid just plain stupid.

    Now you're just crashing out.

The first point was to maybe help you realize that people accumulate stress which eventually leads to a mental breakdown.  Have you never had a point in your life you got overwhelmed and made some back decisions?

The point here is this is pretty much how it has always been with online interactions.  Honestly, "your mother" insults are pretty tame compared to the stuff I used to deal with before real chat filtering came into existence.  You're coming into what has always been and complaining that things aren't to your liking.  No one is forcing you to put up with it.

You can say whatever you want about my mother, my father, my dog, my goldfish, my car, my choice in food, that I like dewalt over ryobi, or whatever your heart desires.  Heck, if you come up with a good one I'll even laugh with you.

The point of my post is that people are human and maybe you shouldn't judge them as if they were the perfect embodiment of Jesus.  None of us are without fault, and we all are going to do something stupid at some point.

  • People need to be more respectful and polite in this game (an all other online multiplayer games).

It is not other's people problem if some one is crashing out, stressed or whatever. This does not give them the right to discount via disrespect on others.

I gave no right to people to curse at me for whatever reason, my gameplay style, ability on the game or whatever and I do not disrespect anyone because any reason, I expect reciprocity.

Is a matter of BEING A GOOD HUMAN BEING and not being idiot towards others in a general manner.

Gamers usually tend to be young and a lot of them are still in process of being educated to become good human beings. This is made through penalties, like everything else in life on this planet.

    (edit: typo)

No my friend and you still don’t get it.

When you buy and play a game you agree and accept to not violate some rules(remember the small tick when u install BF6?) same goes for every other aspect in life otherwise it would be total chaos.

Now I DON’T care if someone is stressed and made a bad decision this is not the place to take it all out, who cares if I am  stressed and cursed all day at work or whatever and just try to play something for whatever reason and I have to put up with every disturbed person, who hides behind a keyboard and takes it all out to other ppl.

Of course we cant take action directly against players like that and that’s were my point is, EA has that responsibility and should enforce those rules that implemented for everyone, NO  exceptions.

No “it has always been like that” is not an excuse I also had to put up with things like that before real chat filtering cause im 20+ years online multi fps, and you know why it has always been like that? because we never said anything we just accepted it and kept on playing.

Of course we are all human and we will make many mistakes but this is not about a mistake, that’s a deliberate attitude “I don’t care f.. you all."

You weren’t in that match, you don’t have a clue about what he wrote and I kept it polite here in the forums not to replicate what he wrote so plz leave it at that, I don’t agree with you and never will but I respect your opinion and that’s the conclusion and the rules “everyone should be respectful to others”

    Thank you.
