I already stopped playing BF6 because i am already bored of it. Just in comparison, i still play BF3/BF4 weekly, sometimes even daily, and also have BF1/BF V on my pc still. After all these years...
In BC2/BF3/BF4 i was a rush main. This new 8v8 rush mode is absolute horrendous and feels like battlecourtyard instead of battlefield. We have gone from massive battlefields to courtyard sized maps with a very simple and castrated gameplay.
Breaktrough is nice, but its no replacement for rush for me. Especially with these maps which is the next problem. BF6 maps are nowhere as good as maps in previous games. But i could l ive with it if the maps and the mode was better polised out. Just compare the experience of this game mode and even the new rush mode of BC2's Valparaiso or BF3's Damavand Peak or Noshahr Canals. Wake Island, Karkand etc.? Or BF4's Siege of Shanghai, Paracel Storm, Rogue Transmission, Zavod etc. The BF6 maps are completely mediocre compared to the good old ones.
They removed parachute spawning which is the biggest sin for me above all else. They took away our options and freedom and made a completely limited, very restricting game. It doesn't feel like battlefield at all. Just compare Sobek City and Gulf of Oman for example, like the fun went out from the game... I actually like the idea of a frontline assault class with a ground spawn beacon, so i don't mind it at all and do not wish for it to be removed. But imho Recons should get their beacon back, and it should be a parachute deploy beacon not a restricted ground only spawn type. I'm not saying every map should have airborne spawn options because it was the same in older BF titles aswell. Tehran Highway or Siege of Shanghai very all amazing maps with no air spawns.
If i compare conquest BF6 to BF3/BF4 conquest the lack of progression is imminent. BF6 conquest does not give anything new or better we doesn't already have in BF3/BF4. Maybe one or two gadgets or a slightly different class system. Again, with a limited gameplay duo to removal of parachute spawns. Sadly, BF3 Kharg Island, Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm is just goated. Or BF4's Paracel Storm or some of BC2's best maps are just goated. The list goes on... What BF6 offers here is seriously underwhelming..
The class design is not good. The support class is a weird frankenstein style monster. Neither a good support, neither a good medic. LMG's have no chemistry with a medic role. An LMG user is someone who lays down constant fire to a destination and not someone running back and forth to revive people. You either do one, or the other. These 2 things doesn't coexist. You do one at the expense of the other. We need a true heavy class and a true medic. I actually don't mind the new assault class at all, in fact i actually like it. But a standalone medic and a heavy class is required imo.
Open weapons and no class/gun limits is just bad. I've been in breaktrough matches where my team had 18 recons out of 24 players on Sobek City and the enemy was similar. In most games 75% of the team is not playing objectives they just go for run and gun and useless kills. But the worst is, they are actively sabotaging closed weapons playlists. Just like in the 2nd phase of the beta, closed weapon playlist only give us a multi mode search option. I don't want a merged conquest, breaktrough and god knows what mode merged into one search option. Also closed weapons search options are completely excluded from custom search.
Looking at the game modes this game has it is quite clear they want to bring in the COD/Apex/Fortnite/CS:GO crowd with all of these small 4v4 CQB style run and gun game modes. Which is fine, i don't see it necessarily as a bad thing. They think there are bigger player bases around and they want a piece from the pie. I'm not naive, i know they run a business and the goal is profits. This how the world works. Also it migth help the transition to BF if they play something they are familiar with first. But i do have the feeling there is no transition, they are just turning battlefield into not battlefield. In my opinion its a mistake to give up the existing bf playerbase, because we can coexist. Give us true big maps with true bf experience and scale while people who prefer small CQB can play their own game modes. And eventually they maybe come to play big game modes as they are getting used to the game.
I won't even get into how bad jets and helis feel in this game compared to old ones. Or the ridiculous sniping method where you get a gun attachment that instantly zeroes your gun removing any kind of skill or fun from sniping. Its just a dumb point and click click style gameplay.
All in all BF6 is not a bad game. It is a good generic military shooter, but not a good Battlefield game for me. I still play BF3/BF4 after 11-12 years, but i am already bored of BF6 after 1 week give or take. If this trend continous i am certainly not gonna buy BF7 and won't spend a single dime on any future content BF6 releases let it be skins or battlepass or whatever. But with slight adjustments, fixing classes, giving back the size and scale and adding parachute spawns back into the game might fix it for me.
