Yup, the console market is just a lot easier to please. Like you said, it's a way more casual player base.
Crossplay is a red flag at this point. It means the developer doesn't have faith in their product, and don't think it will succeed on PC alone.
Crossplay, and subsequently aim assist has pretty much ruined shooters for the PC community. And they really wonder why there's a cheating epidemic?! However, I'll admit what Dice told us on how they tuned the assist for BF6 sounds nice, but from my recollection, something still felt off during the beta. They still get a huge reduction with recoil and spread, so they kinda forgot to mention all that in their nice little post. Can't seem to bring themselves to be completely transparent. Then there's the other issue of desync being a huge problem that doesn't seem to get nearly enough attention, or more so that players have gotten fatigued making thread after thread while Dice doesn't even acknowledge it.
