From March 17th to the 24th March the game will be free to play, on all platforms.
4 maps and 6 Modes, full progression.
Whilst it will increase the player base temporary also going to bring the usually suspects out from under their rock as well hahaha.
I doubt this will convert free to play to any sales people are not stupid
I'm far more worried about the obvious cliff of degradation that will occur to match quality coming with the free week. As you say, the cheaters will come out in full force and make the game as unplayable as redsuck currently is.
Aside from that though, I think it may bring back players who refunded but still have an interest in BF6 so long as it's good. They're really putting all their eggs in to one basket by making the free week patch week. Honestly, they should have released the patch, seen how it actually works (I'm betting server crashes on patch day) THEN done a free week so long as everything doesn't explode.
I want the game to succeed and get more players. Free weeks can bring in more long term players... providing they like their experience.
Guess we'll see...
This means another opportunity for cheaters to test their software - just like before, just like now it will be a time when the game will be completely unplayable.
But as they say, drowning men clutch at straws - EA wants to once again artificially boost statistics for unsuspecting people, including investors, by showing them that the game is doing well and is popular...
Yesterday, after a month's break, I launched the game and I can still say that its technical condition is tragic. Maybe laying people off will be a good thing; those who remain might finally get back to work, or they'll abandon the game entirely—they'll shut down the servers, and it'll be another game for the trash bin. After all, they've already made a fortune on it, and not just a little, so now they don't care about us.
