Battlefield 6 Needs Its Identity Back: 64-Player Breakthrough & Dynamic Weather
I want to start by saying that I actually enjoy Battlefield 6. The gunplay, movement, and weapon customization are some of the things I like most about the game.
However, after playing for a while, I feel like something important is missing: the Battlefield identity that made the previous games special to me.
Two things in particular are 64-player Breakthrough and dynamic weather.
Breakthrough is one of the modes that made Battlefield feel like a large-scale war. I understand that 24v24 may be intended to create a smoother flow, but personally, I don’t think Battlefield needs to be perfectly balanced or predictable. The chaos, huge battles, vehicles, aircraft, and having to fight your way through a difficult situation are part of what makes Battlefield fun.
Dynamic weather is another feature I really miss. Weather changing during a match can affect visibility, atmosphere, movement, and the way players approach the battlefield. It makes the map feel alive instead of being the same environment from the beginning to the end of a match.
What confuses me is that Battlefield has had these kinds of features before. After several years of development, I expected some of the classic Battlefield features to return or evolve in Battlefield 6.
So I have a simple question for the developers:
Are 64-player Breakthrough and dynamic weather being considered for Battlefield 6?
If they are planned, I would really appreciate some communication about the direction or roadmap, even if the features are still far away.
And if they are not planned, I would rather hear that directly than keep guessing whether they might eventually return.
I’m not asking the developers to simply copy an older Battlefield. I want Battlefield 6 to have its own identity while still preserving the things that made Battlefield feel like Battlefield.
I really like the foundation of BF6. I just want the game to go further and become the large-scale, chaotic Battlefield experience that many longtime players have been waiting for.
