Just for clarification: do you want this only be the case a) DURING the revive process or generally, b) while they wait for a possible revive?
In the case of a) I might be interested in trying it out. This way, the person being revived could try to protect the person reviving, while they are super vulnerable. It's a very specific scenario and might be balanced enough, as not everyone can be revived at any moment, but if you do, a surprise enemy could in theory be fended off.
If you want b) - everyone in the downed-but-not-out state is able to use their pistol - I would hate that actually. When I was able to kill them, I deserve them to be unable to still shoot. And I certainly would not want someone else, who I might not even notice lying somewhere, be able to hit me with a stray bullet. There is way too much chaos in a normal round of Battlefield for that.
I know, this is/was a BR mechanic and it is much more fitting there, I believe. But I did not play a lot of BR in my lifetime anyway.
I only want it to be for when the person is actually being revived, even if it is only for a certain class if that would make the most sense, but having it be an option to protect your squad mate that is trying to save you. I think it would be a small change that a lot of people could enjoy.

I'd be fine with it, as long as the person that's being revived, is now vulnerable even before the revive is complete. If you get shot during this time, you can no longer respawn, just like how it is when you get killed twice in rapid succession.
