Battlefield Franchise Feedback and Suggestions for Future Titles
Dear EA and DICE Development Team,
I am writing as a longtime and dedicated Battlefield player to share feedback and suggestions that I believe could help strengthen the future of the franchise. Battlefield has always stood apart for its scale, immersion, and teamwork, and I sincerely appreciate the effort your teams continue to invest in delivering memorable experiences.
One of Battlefield’s defining strengths has been its expansive environments. A return to the scale and pacing of Battlefield 4 would greatly benefit future installments. Larger maps that support multiple simultaneous engagements would allow infantry, armor, naval units, and aircraft to operate cohesively. Providing sufficient space for aerial gameplay and incorporating meaningful, large-scale destruction would restore the strategic depth and identity that players associate with the series.
Reintroducing the platoon system from Battlefield 4 would significantly strengthen community engagement. Features such as custom emblem creation, platoon tags displayed on uniforms and vehicles, persistent progression, and archived statistics would reinforce teamwork and foster long-term player investment. Cross-platform integration and leaderboard tracking would further enhance the sense of identity and competition among squads.
Expanded cosmetic customization would also be welcomed. Allowing players to apply skins to individual weapon components, such as optics, barrels, suppressors, magazines, grips, stocks, and receivers, would provide greater personalization while maintaining gameplay balance. This approach supports ethical monetization without introducing pay-to-win mechanics.
Another innovative feature worth considering is facial scanning through a companion mobile application, similar to systems used in leading sports titles. This would enhance immersion by allowing players to create characters based on their own likeness without requiring an extensive in-game character creator. Such functionality would strengthen player identity, improve squad cohesion, and allow for secure, opt-in personalization with appropriate moderation safeguards.
A player-friendly live-service model remains essential to the success of the franchise. Providing free maps and gameplay updates while offering optional cosmetic purchases ensures accessibility, fairness, and long-term sustainability. Maintaining a unified player base without premium DLC fragmentation would further reinforce community engagement.
In summary, the following features would help bring Battlefield back to its peak:
A return to Battlefield 4–scale maps and content.
Large-scale destruction and balanced combined-arms gameplay.
Revived platoons with custom emblems and clan statistics.
Modular weapon skin customization.
Facial scanning and advanced character personalization.
A fair, cosmetic-focused live-service model.
Thank you for your time, dedication, and continued commitment to the Battlefield community. I appreciate the opportunity to share this feedback and look forward to the future of the series.
Respectfully,
Sterling Welsh
