BF6 - Gameplay Feedback: Weapons

Hello. I’ve never posted on the forums before, but I feel I have to share my experience with BF6 after 158 hours of gameplay, as the current state been extremely frustrating and because I genuinely want to see the game get better.

Weapons
The weapons balance of some weapons feels inconsistent. Some guns take 3 shots at close range while at full HP, while others are painfully slow and feel nearly useless in situations where they should perform.  I would understand this with weapons such as shotguns, but it feels random across other weapons.

For example, the M60 is painfully slow at ADS, slow rate of fire, slow TTK, low headshot damage, low accuracy and finally almost no suppression you can do, it feels pointless. Compare that to the SCW-10 smg where it is more accurate, less recoil, what feels like more range and faster TTK. Expected for a SMG , but I am frustrated and how one weapon feels really strong while the others, regardless of the situation, feel pointless.

I mention these as examples of imbalance and the sharp contrast between them, not to imply the M60 should be overpowered. And yes, attachments play a role, but I’m judging their effectiveness based on how potent they are from the start or at lower levels.

I would like to see faster aim down sights (ADS) speeds on slower weapons like the M60, as well as higher headshot multipliers across most guns. Right now, headshots often don’t reduce the number of shots to kill (excluding snipers and such) enough to make aiming for them meaningful, which punishes skill rather than rewarding it.

Or LMG suppression, if not faster ADS then suppression which can decrease the accuracy on the enemy when shot at. Anything to make it feel unique and give you a better chance in battles. And just to be clear, just examples, not demands.

  • I understand the struggle, but the reality is you should not be using the m60 as a close quarter weapon engaging players with SMGs. I last I checked this lmg is much like the M250-M240L with 4 shot kill at any distance, medium-long ranges is where this lmg excels but the rate of fire is very, very slow, in other words this isn't an "all map weapon" unless you're specifically trying to put distance in-between yourself and the enemy to get the upper hand.  The m60 IRL weighs upwards of 20lbs compared to a 6lb M4, you're not going to get the mobility of SMG, Carbine, or Assault rifle when using a 20lb+ gun lol. Yes, attachments will 100% help with mobility and the sluggish handling of the weapon but again, not to the level of a carbine or smg, for example the "Ribbed stubby" drops 433 to 367, it shaves off 66 aim down sight speed and doesn't effect ADS accuracy, next id use the "double port brake" significantly helps control, and if you can use any blue laser attachment, which improves ADS accuracy while moving because in my opinion (as a recon main) laying prone or standing still is how you die very very fast. Everything else is gonna be about landing those 4 shots before the enemy lands their shots first. I'd be looking up the best LMGs ttk if I were you. Alot of videos break down the distance sweet spot of the rifles.

Oh and before I forget, one thing new players need to do, is go into go into "community" tab under redsec, select "search experiences" on the left side, there's an "experience code" to enter, type in Z4ZT6, "Test range V2.0.3-Created By X8Reaps" should appear,  select it, scroll down to the bottom host it locally (just means no one can join, it's solo) use this to test your weapons, load out etc, I think it's set or hardcore rn tho so expect the damage and stuff to be a bit weird atm, but this is where I spend most of my time checking weapon combos.
