Bot Backfill Return Date

They also made Portal SDK completely useless, why would anyone spend time on making maps if there isn't bot backfill and no one will ever join their custom made experiences when the server is empty.

Unfortunately there is nothing new so far. With bot backfill enabled you won’t be able to get xp. It’s said that the devs are working on some kind of offline verified experience but no statement on when this is about to happen 

If it doesn't return I will have a forced backside refund for fraudulent advertising, which the bots were clearly discussed. IO want to set up conquest, bot backfilled for our disabled Veterans group and they are all pissed. 

EA get on the ball. THE bots are tough and we cant get exp, use them on our own conquest that was promissed and advertised? 

VERY BAD DECISION ON ONE OF THE ONLY GAMES KEEPING YOU A FLOAT.

Paid over 100.00 to be screwed over by EA. never again. 

I have to agree with all of you, very disappointed in the devs. I was not hurting anyone playing with bots just to relax and have fun without having to deal with sweaty kids

Hi DICE/EA,
Portal's current XP limitations unfairly punish players who create normal, balanced servers. By preventing regular progression, it kills the motivation to play and complete missions on these servers. This causes good, community-driven servers to die out, leaving the server browser filled with empty lobbies or pure "XP farms."
This goes against the "Your Rules, Your Battlefield" promise. While we understand the need to prevent abuse, the solution shouldn't be to penalize everyone. Please consider a more intelligent system that differentiates between abuse and honest play.
Find a balance that rewards honest gameplay in Portal servers with normal rules, and let the community thrive.

If you have other games on your EA account I would recommend not doing a charge back as it may affect the status of your account in unanticipated ways.

I've also been threatened by Steam support to stop responding to my open ticket for the refund they refuse to give based on their 2 hour play-time window. I keep trying to explain the game was changed AFTER the 2 hour window and that is out of my control.

They passively threatened to ban me by telling me they cannot help with my ban and including links in our correspondence on how to lift the ban (really, what ban...i wasn't banned...am I now??). I never once mentioned anything about being banned (because I am not banned, and never have been from any game, ever). Only been asking for a refund since they removed bots, that's all.

So...EA isn't the only issue here...so is Steam...Steam is probably more anti-consumer than EA is (since EA can only get away with so much considering it's a publicly traded company and Valve is a private company who has no one to answer to).

This will end up being the very last game I will ever purchase through Steam's platform. I will continue to play whatever Steam games I currently already own & enjoy playing but from now on all new game key purchases will be through other vendors.

Steam not only doesn't care about what the morally correct thing to do is, but in fact went so far as to threaten me to keep my mouth shut and then closes my ticket without asking.

Corporate consumer bullying is commonplace nowadays, only way is to cancel/hit their wallets, sadly, too many snowflakes afraid of offending or accepting their threats without a fight  .. 

Right there with you. Multiple attempts, all for nothing. It seems consumer rights and the letter of the law are no longer viable. Third party vendors will gain because of this in my opinion and rightly so. The days of the customer always being right are well and truly gone. It seems the whole gaming industry is becoming predatory. It will be to their detriment. If they think making the game unfeasibly arduous will encourage people to purchase level advances then they're sadly mistaken. 

Unfortunately most of these big game developers don’t care about normal consumers like me and you. They only care about the bitchy whiny streamers that give their game exposure and views. Also the developer of this game came over from activision so you already know they don’t care and they’re prioritizing streamers over us.
