Bunny hopping!
Why has battlefield gone backwards and made bunny hopping a strategy? It's not been a legit tactic for every other bf. So why has it reared it's head? Or is it because we have laser beam weapons?...
Different era, different generation and different interests. BF3 and 4 came out in the days before arena shooters lost their sustainability and before there were 5 billion other options of games out there, especially the whole free to play spike. It's the same reason games like Halo can't maintain players anymore despite Halo Infinite legitimately being a good game.
With that said, BF4 was pretty dead early on because it was basically unplayable for like 6 months. The game didn't recover until about a year later when they fixed all the problems. BF1's all time peak on steam was 50k and if you look at steamdb, BF1 had the same peaks and valley's as BF6. Almost like people come and go between updates because they have other games to play. The pool is bigger now and that space isn't easily shared anymore.

With all due respect, that is utter G-A-R-B-A-G-E.
Maybe for YOU the game was dead early on, sure. But for the vast majority, nah you don't know what you're talking about.

Your nostalgia is clouding your memory. BF4 was in fact not great for almost a year. It was a buggy/unplayable mess.
