Don't spread false information, of course ppl are allowed to run software like Razer Synapse, Logitech G-Hub etc., or else they wouldn't offer RGB light patterns for the Razer RGB mice and keyboards. Why should RGB game profiles exist for games that ban you for using it?
The problem is if you use macros nonstop it looks "suspicous" to the anti cheat software, but if you just run the mouse and keyboard software and don't try to abuse some sort of glitch by pressing many buttons in a short time or switching between input devices nonstop, it won't ban you.
I mean the mice and keyboard manufacturers would have to warn you, while installing it with some sort of big fat text, that if you install the software you can get banned in MP games, just for simply having it installed and running.
I am using Razer mice (had original Diamondback that worked fine for 8 years :D) and keyboard since 2004 and always had the software installed if there was any and never had problems with anti cheat systems in well now 21 years of PC gaming, so please don't spread something like that.
False information? There's youtube videos on how you can do rapid fire macros with your controller you mentioned. Lol.
If you been gaming that long and haven't figured out that in TOS it does tell you to disable that software. Obviously you dont read ToS and you were banned for using cheating devices and software.

I was banned from Guild Wars 2 just for using a G15 keyboard from Logitech. I used macros with WoW. Once I played GW2 they banned me. I was even told by the devs they knew exactly which port the keyboard was plugged into. What saved me and my banned was lifted after they realized I didnt install the software.

I just looked up your controller on YouTube and the capabilities it has. Im glad you got banned for using it.
That controller has macro capabilities. It has capabilities for rapid fire. It has a turbo button for fast button presses.
You can hold a button on that controller push the star button and it activates rapid button pushes for the button you held down. Lmao Right there is why you were banned bro. I dont understand how you would not know that after all your years of gaming.

I didn't even know the 8bitdo controllers can do that. I was using it only when piloting the jet because the default controls with mouse keyboard for jets was terrible. I liked the 8bitdo Ultimate controllers because they have their own charging docks and when you lift it up it immediately syncs with the PC. I previously had to use wired PS5 and switch controllers beforehand and those wouldn't work sometimes with windows by default without work arounds.
So a hidden feature of my controller is what may be the culprit. It's possible I may have pressed the star icon when trying to turn the controller on (it goes to sleep if not used every minute). I'll look into the stars functionality and see if it's enabled or not on mine. Though I don't recall being able to use the Jet for long in the game I got banned during (I got spawn camped by the enemy fighter, thus me switching back to mouse keyboard as per the original title of this thread).

I am trying to see if I can activate it right now. Got a video link? I noticed I did install the 8bitdo software to update the firmware of the 8bitdo's so they would work with the switch 2. No profiles were set up when I loaded it up.
Update: Tried to enable macro trigger modes by pressing the star and the profile buttons. Neither did anything and I think that's because I never set up any "macros" in their software into the controller. I did however end up finding out my controller does have an xbox button for taking pictures and videos I now know about, which is cute. Not familiar with the xbox overlay thing it did.
So would they ban people for using the 8bitdo by default or only when they ran macros? I don't know why they would wait for 200+ hours to ban me for using the controller. I thought you figured out where I got banned and I could explain it to them, but I am doubting its the controller itself here after trying to make it do macros and failing.
