Competitive playlist - rank system
Hi everyone! I'm leaving this suggestion here because apparently it's the only way to do it if you don't work for EA. As the title says, I would really be happy to see the introduction of a rank system in battlefield 6, because I think that having something to constantly grind for will prevent the game from dying quickly (at least in my personal experience it worked on many games 😄), so here's my suggestion:
Individual Rank
I believe that the individual rank shouldn't be based on wins or losses. In a match with 64 players, it's impossible for a single player to determine the outcome, meaning their rank progression would be out of their control.
I believe individual players should instead be evaluated based on other class-specific factors, similar to the KOST style in Rainbow Six Siege. This system could classify a player's skill with each single class into Tiers, established based on the player base's average performance following a normal distribution.
For example, with the Medic class, a series of parameters that could be used are: Revives, Resupplies, Heals, Kills, Captures, and Defenses per single life.
This way, everyone can play to try and reach the best Tier, and potentially even rank on the class-specific leaderboard.
Platoon Rank
At a collective level, I think Battlefield could adopt a logic similar to that of Pro Clubs. People should have the option to create their own Clan or Platoon, join other platoons, and participate in competitive playlists with their Platoon members. This would lead to balanced matches between more organized and coordinated teams fighting to improve their ranking on the leaderboard.
Platoons should also be classified into Tiers, but based on wins and losses. I also think that wins and losses should have a coefficient relative to the magnitude of the win or loss. For example, if a platoon achieves a crushing victory against another platoon in that Tier, they should gain more points than they would by winning a tight match, because they proved to be much stronger than the opposing platoon. This would allow stronger platoons to climb faster and clash against other strong platoons, without having to repeatedly face much more disorganized platoons, which would ruin the game experience for the weaker team.
That's my raw idea to keep the game alive for as long as possible. If you agree, please upvote the thread, hoping a developer will read it and appreciate the concept. Also, let me know what you think!
