Could have been one of the best BF...
Feedback from an old BF player :
Could have been one of the best BF but EA and DICE decision-makers believed that kids need Fortnite and CoD skins to enjoy an FPS. Asking the question how did we enjoy BF3 and Bad Company so much when we were kids too?
Movements are good, gunplay is decent, visually looks good and sounds good. But destruction physics is really poor, there is almost zero places where you can make a hole in a wall to open a new path like in older BF which is one of the most important selling point and a key point to the BF's identity. All town maps have like 5% destructibility on it. Level designs are really poor, there is zero maps that are memorable, no more huge objects or structures that fall down with an epic animation and a complete evolution of the level design during a game. And you couldn't help yourselves from producing skins from CoD modern era. And the fact that this is day one i can't imagine what will happen in a few weeks and months : https://imgur.com/a/uMGUcQB
I mean, listening to streamers who have been popular because they streamed the trends in past (Battle Royale for the most part) for a Battlefield is nonsense. I've been defending BF6 during beta this summer to my friends, saying it is promising, just little tweaks could make it a great BF, thinking you were hiding the best maps, the best content, and more destruction, but no. What a disappointment. There is no magic feeling in this BF like old ones had. I didn't like BF1 because it's not my type, but i recognized the quality of this BF, love, passion, and a full understanding of the BF community made this game one of the best BF. As for BF3, Bad Company and even BF4. Compare to CoD you were so much more consistent in terms of quality and staying true to your identity while still trying to innovate and improve. I mean, every time you tried to copy others you failed. We all remember the BF5 battle royale and the worst game in BF history, BF2042. I'm not inside DICE so i can't tell why and how these choices are made but the consequences are visible to all of us. So i'm glad i just took a subscription to test it cause now I'm canceling it, and i only lost 16 euros, not like one of my friend who bought it and who bitterly regrets his 70€ purchase. We are not asking to get the same game as BF3, we just want BF to keep his identity and stay true to itself but feel free to innovate and evolve on top of these foundations as long as it don't try to copy others. Being the trend was DICE at the times, do you.
So there you go, a short feedback so at least i'm not part of people who are complaining without doing anything to change something. At least i said my point on your forums. Really hope the best for the future of a licence that have been on top for so long but that is on the wrong path for a while now. Good luck
