Could we give transport helo pilots some points love?
When I am looking to chill, I run a transport helo. I can often make it through half of the match on one helo, and from time to time I can run the whole match with just one. I get people to points, line up gunners for strafing runs, and return to the base to restock, repair and get the next set of people who want to jump in.
The problem is, once the match is complete and I do just that, I am still fairly low on the scoreboard when I am continually getting people to hotspots and the occasional assist on minigun kills. There is xp for combat drops, but it is 10 per when the game does register that.
So I'd like to offer the following items for points, but won't suggest how many points they're worth or points per tick, alongside currently active bonuses:
- Active combat engagement, a tick of points per second of active combat while piloting the transport helo
- Points for exiting (surviving) combat
- Points per 10 seconds of moving more than 50 km/h outside of HQ while near (x) distance of zones, and points per second for staying inside a contested zone while piloting
- Assist counts as kill for any minigun kills by passengers
- Points per minute for piloting outside of HQ
If the rebuttal to this is that then everyone will want to be a transport helo pilot... good! The combination of those points should be equal to those who are actively contributing to the team, like how supports do far better than most when reviving, supplying and killing.
The points should encourage people to do a good job as a transport helo pilot. If they're just doing one (points per minute for piloting outside of HQ) then they're not gonna get much. But if they are doing all of the above, then they're contributing to the team and should be rewarded.
