How many of those Cronus were explicitly used on console. As its a peripheral device it can be used on PC too. It doesnt matter if 50k were sold, what platforms were all of them they used on. You may find it'll be a mix of console and PC. What about third party modded controllers you can buy which suprise surprise, can be used on both console and PC. All we know is, they're out there and cheaters will cheat in some way or another.
Yes, the "average Joe" (AKA the employed) may complain and falsely accuse - but as I said this has always been a problem since, well multiplayer gaming. Im sure everyone has been guilty of it. (Myself included), it's only until you see the deathcam or your surroundings you get a good idea. When you play often enough (and I don't mean "streamer" or "pro-player" standards), it does become clear if they were better or if it indeed was cheating/exploiting. Otherwise the average player (who plays what an hour or two a day say) will go online after work, get stomped by someone who plays countless hours every day and think (this is ridiculous - they're cheating). In the heat of the moment, yes they may think it's true, but overtime they'll learn if it was in fact cheating... or if you just got outplayed. I got called a cheater the other day for shooting a guy in the back... even then, my aim was far from perfect, so I do have a good idea on this topic.
As for comments on KD... private profile? New accounts? Just two ways to mask your KD if you're cheating. Yes your statement of a high KD may indicate cheating is true, but equally a new account with stealth cheats (again commonly seen in CoD sadly) will show 0KD initially, and that's even if it's on public or have a unique name. The amount of times I've seen "Hostile Soldier" in CoD and they were blatantly cheating is ridiculous. Why do they use the same name, to make it harder to find and report.
What's obvious to me is... aim-assist is one of those. Sometimes it helps. Other times it doesn't. If you're in CQB or have multiple targets next to one another, you sometimes find yourself fighting aim-assist to shoot at the target you want too, not at what its trying to lock onto. Given you've tested this, surely you'd have noticed this from time to time. Otherwise if it's your average 1v1 situation in some back alley, then yes it usually helps. Again, in my experience this has been encountered not only in Battlefield, but the likes of CoD, Ready Or Not, Helldivers, GTA. Camera breaking can effect (pretty much disable aim-assist for a moment)... it's why you see all these cod players sliding round corners at 20mph.
As I also mentioned earlier on in the chain... is it 100% aim-assist or is it a combination such as weapon build, latency and aim-assist.
Let's say for arguments sake aim-assist wasn't a thing... Who would win then? PC, pretty obvious no? They have better performance, more programmable input settings, reaction times (again in terms of mouse moving). So it would be the flip side to this situation... "PC needs nerfing because the performance is better, reaction times, more programmable inputs. Point, click, shoot (which is your equivalent to L2/LT + R2/RT)". If it's such a huge issue... I'm sure EA will resolve it soon. If not, I guess it's like any other shooter game.
As I said, it's always been an issue, in most shooter games. Both platforms have their pros/cons, just PC players who happen to use controllers get the best of both. Shocker, a lot of players these days.
I made comments earlier in the chain that yes whilst it (aim-assist) may need fine-tuning... you can't penalise console players to cater for a few PC players who are using a controller. If you want to use MnK, cool you get pros 1,2,3 but dont get aim-assist. If you choose controller, you get aim-assist but don't get 1,2,3. Something the gaming industry has done for what years now in regards to input mapping, graphics (console is typically locked to performance or fidelity - whilst PC gets both).
DeSync and the underlying netcode is an issue yes. But its the same with any fighting/shooter game. At one point Soul Calibre had an awful DeSync. It's a common issue and usually resolved fairly quickly by the devs. Equally its not 100% responsible to aim-assist given desync is a difference caused by latency or other network discrepancies.
