The likelihood of Cronus being used on console is higher is true, this is partly because it is harder to obtain cheats on console than it is on console - to which we've both agreed on. However I can imagine a percentage of those sales were for PC - Mostly because its harder to detect a Cronus compared to the usual aimbot cheats you see, and because it's its own "device". Thankfully it seems EA is now able to detect this and combat against it.
Likewise, and I agree, some players are better than others. The same with pretty much anything hobby related. My point was that the "average Joe" who doesn’t play as much as other "average Joe's", or when they run into streamers/Pro-Players find it harder to determine who's cheating and who it isn't. They learn to tell the difference after playing the game X amount of time (like any game/sport etc). I'm an average player, my KD isn’t terrible, nor is it amazing, but I've genuinely learnt how to tell if someone is cheating or not. Equally as mentioned earlier, I've been called a cheater which is comical because it was a kill in the most "Unc" gameplay as the youth would say. Your analogy about the gym (being proud of progress) is fair - yet at the same time you can see how it's doesn’t directly impact Aim-Assist... For example you could have 5 flawless games, and on the 6th you do average if not poor, and your KD takes a beating because of it. I found this was the case in RB6 Siege years ago with their "Rank" system.
Agreed, cheaters will always find a way to cheat in some form. All we (the legit players) can do is report and hope it's dealt with. Thankfully EA seems to have a solid anti-cheat. However, I am using CoDs anti-cheat as a comparison which doesn't seem to do a lot... in two years of playing DMZ, I've seen 3 people get hit by anti-cheat, yet run into a cheater maybe 1 in 3 games - So you can see how top-tier that anti-cheat is.
Glad you agree. I've just found in a few different situations I'm fighting against aim-assist, and then sometimes it actually works well (and I dont mean in an overpowered sense). As I said its usually when in those 1v1 short/medium range engagements it works.
Yes, at short to medium range... the recoil is easier to control with the thumbstick, as you say you pull down slightly and it seems to be accurate enough to hit your shots. Maybe every shot depending on other parameters such as the "Suppressed" state, attachments etc. At close quarters, and we're talking both ran into the same room, I believe KnM has the advantage, mostly because they can flick the mouse to snap to a target, have more options in terms of key binding, and as I said if they use the movement well, they can break aim-assist for a moment with movement (camera breaking). That leaves long range... depending on the weapon (inc attachments) and input (controller or KnM), results my vary - which is fair to say.
Again, I agreed earlier, it may need some "fine-tuning". I'm just going off my experience - but as mentioned even then I found it is hit or miss at times. My point was that aim-assist has been around for years now and this topic has came up multiple times through the years. As we've both agreed aim-assist is there to help with competitive play.
Agreed, and sadly it's usually the streamers who use controllers on their high-end PC's, but IIWII (It It What It Is) - they can afford it I guess. As for MnK vs Controller, I refer back to my comments made in point 5.
As for the DeSync, it's one of those... "Crossplay" is still relatively "new" - Im using that term loosely - So I imagine everything is still being fine-tuned on that side of things. If I recall correctly (correct me if I'm wrong), EA said they'd provide the option to choose which platforms you can play with. For example you could have "Console Only", "PS + PC", "Xbox + PC", "PC Only" or "All". So yes, in some regard it is crossplay, but other factors may play a part in it in terms of server strain (especially around events etc). Either way there's an issue with the DeSync and they typically get resolved sooner than later.
As others have pointed out... I just don't under why they didn't give PC an option to disable crossplay from the start. Equally maybe they're working on option to choose which platforms you can play with. Who knows, time will tell - I'm just going off what I've heard and experienced.
