I am not so in favor of all these changes to the mortar. All I feel is that it worked well for me in BF4. Somehow I feel now it is just underwhelming. The delay between firing and landing of the mortar is far too long. Damage seems to be less. All in all it is just not as effective as it was in BF4. So I ended up just not using it. couple of times because it just isn't effective enough to waste your time on it. So would love if EA would bring it back more like it was in BF4 (maybe not make it too good to prevent it from becoming a spam-fest).
The delay is just about the only accurate design om the mortar, the projectile is shot with a mortar and flys up to arch down again, it takes a considerable amount of time. The travel time of the projectile is part of the balancing of it and has to be there.
