I imagine it's hard to support kernel level anticheat on Linux due to it having so many different distributions. There's Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Fedora, and Arch. Just to name a few.
I wonder if Linux gamers would be happy if DICE supported a single Linux distribution such as Ubuntu?

True, there are many distributions. But there is just one Linux kernel.

You'd be surprised. The whole reason it's called Linux is because that is the kernel name. That is the one thing all distributions share.
The thing is, they don't have to support it, the Proton and Wine teams are doing the hard work. They just need to remove anti-cheat refusing to install on Linux. - MuskKing4 months agoSeasoned Newcomer
Personally, if we had to install an immutable distro from one specific provider i would be satisfied, i would make a partition just for that.
My PC can run Win 11, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot no issue. But my distrust and total aversion to Microsoft products i will not for my personal hardware use them.I'm not mad also that EA doesn't go the route of allowing Linux i understand its all business, so i just place my dollars elsewhere.

I like this idea. An immutable SteamOS could be a good start. Nothing has deep access in usermode on my machine, I'm not going to make an exception for a **bleep** game. Especially not kernel access.
