I imagine it's hard to support kernel level anticheat on Linux due to it having so many different distributions. There's Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Fedora, and Arch. Just to name a few.
I wonder if Linux gamers would be happy if DICE supported a single Linux distribution such as Ubuntu?

You'd be surprised. The whole reason it's called Linux is because that is the kernel name. That is the one thing all distributions share.
The thing is, they don't have to support it, the Proton and Wine teams are doing the hard work. They just need to remove anti-cheat refusing to install on Linux.
