I also play recon a bunch. I dont think theyd let you "upgrade" parts of gadgets but probably it would be a whole different drone. (Like thermite grenade launcher vs smoke). So like maybe it wouldnt be able to spot anymore for balance reasons. Idk if you played the campaign but they DID have a drone that can drop explosives and a different device that shot tiny fast missiles that you have to self guide. I imagine they'll add those in the future.
