Duo's lobby too large, never starts

Why did you leave duos at 80/100 - it's DOA in my region. People won't wait in an empty lobby for a game to start. I've been waiting in a lobby for about 15 minutes, and it's gotten up to 6 players, and then drops again. It's 5pm in my region. You need to make it easier for games to start. Once a game has started and ppl can see that there are games running, people will jump in. People do keep jumping into duos, but then they leave after 1 or 2 minutes because it's not starting.

This is why duos initiation was popular, because we only needed 16/24 players to start the game, and the rest were bots. I'm not asking for bot-filled games, I'm asking for bot-filled lobbies to get the games started. Allow people to load in during deployment (you already do this) or even do late drops out to 30 seconds. What's important is that we actually get games. Normal duos was already dead. I didn't get a duos game during the month before it was removed.

My recommendation for duos is:

* Decrease lobby size from 80/100 to 40/50
* If the lobby doesn't get started after 8 minutes, fill it to the start count with bots
* Report when a player is in lobby, instead of just saying they are in a game.
* When we select a mode to matchmake, show us which servers/lobbies are running, and state.

  • These sound like perfectly achievable changes that can be rolled into game right now.

I understand that there are plans for Casual Redsec in the next update and that is great but we are not asking for new content, we are not asking for new game modes. We just asking you to accept that you need to adapt the server configuration based on the region where the server is deployed.

The small map region of Initiation Duos was totally fine. Sure if you could have moved the safe zone a bit more around the full map that would have been great and maybe that is something that Causal Redsec can bring however not being allowed to play the game at all because you refuse to accept that the game is fun to play without 100 players is so very much worse than a limited map.

Rotating Duos and Solos has also not helped at all with getting lobbys to fill up. Probably as it assumes that you have the same players play Duos as you do Solos and I really do not think this is the case. Solos is for people who want to try to 'be the best' just like Ranked Quads. Duos (especially initiation duos) was for players who play just to have fun.

    Fun...remember that Dice?

I understand there is a large and vocal player base of highly skilled players who are seeking more challenging and competitive game play and that's great that you are trying your best to making things interesting for them. However, not everyone can win and if the game is only fun for the players who do win do you really think that the majority who don't will stay loyal?
