An idea about revives and KD relation.

Getting revived should not save your KD but only the ticket to your team (well it saves by default because you don't have to spend a ticket respawning). Revives actually throws kd off the window and it makes it completely unreliable. I see al ot of people with 30-40 kills and died like 5 times. You know the person received like 10-20 revies or so while someone else has a 30/25 kd and received like zero revives. You would say one of them is really good player while the other is not so much judging from the KD but you don't know the circumstances like how many times a person were revived.

My proposal is to make it so that the statistics board say how manytimes you were revived or say the exact times you died even if you got revived. I mean after all you died to someone.

Reviving should stay to work with ticket system so it has team play synergy but it should not save your KD if you die. Or at least document it in the statistics so we can have a better understanding of people's KD.

I don’t really mind one way or another, but I would question the unhealthy obsessions with getting “the right” KD. Especially in a game where comparison is ultimately pointless due to vehicles and the kills you can rack in them.

    Also:

You would say one of them is really good player while the other is not so much

Actually, if the one getting “the good KD” got them racking randos from a perch as a lone wolf, and the other got them through offensive and defensive kills on objs and got revives because they’re playing alongside their team, I’d want to praise the latter.

Edit: actually I change my mind, I wouldn’t want to see this implemented. People are already impatient enough when it comes to tapping out, I wouldn’t want any incentive to stay in to be removed.

  • The scoreboard should only hold the following information

    Rank + Name + Points ; Rank + Name + Points

No K/D, no Ping nothing else

  • If we are at it they should separate infantry kills from vehicle kills as well.

AlphiB  why spending full time on the ground waiting for revive and nobody revives you is contributing to the team how exactly? Waiting full time 10 times is like half the round. I know some people actually do that just to save their kd. That is actually not good for the game because he is just lying on the ground instead of running around interfering with the enemy or capturing.

Just because you think you are helping the team with saving ticket and waiting on the ground full time which is like what 1 minute? and you do that every time you die might not be helpful for the team. Revives mean something if it is rapid so you are back in the fight quickly without having to wait for spawn screen and timer. If you wait out the entire time and you don't get revived any way is actually just a waste because you could be running around killng people costing ticket to the enemy.

While this issue doesn't really affect my personal gameplay experience, I completely agree with your point. It's just that the specifics of how to fix it still need to be discussed.

In the Chinese community, there's a subset of players who have an unhealthy obsession with the "double K" (KD and KPM), and they use those stats as the standard for judging a player's skill. Although this mentality is pushed back against by most players, you still see this kind of talk pop up from time to time. It's like they can't wrap their heads around the idea that different players have different roles to play.

Dude, you've either never waited for a revive, or you're so impatient, time passes differently for you when you're on the ground.

The normal timer is 8s, and you will have to wait whatever remains of that time in the spawn screen no matter what. There is thus very little value in tapping out during that period (at best you're saving a couple of seconds choosing your next spawn). The extended timer is about twice that.

If you waited an extra 8 seconds beyond base time every time for ten deaths (which would be silly unless you're always on your lonesome, I agree there's no point waiting when there's no medic or squadmate in sight), the total wait times would be 2.6 minutes, or about a tenth of an average match.

Now quick question: are you sure you can achieve enough for your team in those 2.6 minutes to be worth 10 tickets? Note that kills won't do it, because quite logically, you'd need to average 100 kills a match. So how much do you contribute on objs just by yourself that makes you think you can match that?

Conquest is the main mode for BF, and revives is the only mechanic beyond the shooting that has actually seen some love by the devs. Whatever you think of DICE, you can trust them on having done the math on revives and tap out times to make them worth it.

AlphiB What are you talking about? If you press "request revive" then the timer is not 8 seconds it is like over 30 seconds if you fully wait it out. If you die 10 times and you wait full time every time that is 5 minutes. Time you could be spending killing enemies or capturing. As I said revives are only good if they are fast and you are instantly back into the fight so you skip spawn timer/deploy screen also having to run because the game is going to place you 200m away from any relevant objective unless you spawn on a squad member who is not in combat but if they are you can't spawn on them so you have to wait even more.

seems like you have no idea how people play. Some ppl get like 6/1 or something by luck then they will camp somewhere until the end of the round just to not ruin their kd. Most people don't play objective nor care about winning. They only care about achieving good kd so that makes them look good. That is why I want to see people saved their kd by getting revived or actually good.
