EA is paying hackers to play.
Curious title? It's true.
EA Moderators: I have not named or alluded to anybody, don't tell me this article is naming and shaming.
You should stop protecting hackers with censorship anyway.
Repeat.gg hosts official competitions worth USD just about daily - $ provided by EA.
They have been hosting these since the game started.
As a top contender, I have won $329.60 USD so far.
I've been playing since the competitions started.
You may validate this claim with my stats or links to the competitions (Gauntlet in particular):

What I have seen in that time is hackers taking first place, and even second place, constantly.
First gets $10 USD. Second gets $8 USD. Third gets $5 USD. These run near daily, and weekends are $25/$20/$15.
In other words, hackers have been making 30% to 100% more money from these competitions than my $329.60 - without any effort whatsoever.
Their every match surpasses legitimate players all-time world record scores.
They play the minimum rounds and come first and second.
We report them.
Nothing is done for a week, and then the account MAY eventually be banned from repeat.gg, though not from EA:
In one week, they win up to $75 USD for first, or $60 USD for second, preventing the actual top players from getting that money. It could even be the same person on two accounts!
Since Gauntlet is free to play, and a repeat.gg account is free to make, they then make a new account immediately after the ban, and continue on a new name.
They have been doing this since it came out; months.
There have been bigger competitions - e.g. two $100 USD prizes for first.
Indeed, hackers win those too.
Numerous talented competitive players have ceased bothering to compete because they're awarded a measly $1.50 or $2.50 for lower rankings.
These competitions require investing hours a day - for these useless rewards, why bother?
It's an utter disgrace, and neither repeat.gg nor EA have cared to do a thing about it.
You can simply go to any leaderboard, check the top players match history, see 100+ kill gauntlet games (even 120 kills frequently), and ban them on the spot for scores that are literally impossible to obtain due to the nature of the game. It's that easy - roughly 2 minutes of time per competition.
But nah, keep paying the hackers! What a joke.
