Not sure what the complaint is. Matches I play the players with the "controller" symbol next to their name quite often wind up in the top 5 if not the #1 slot. So obviously console players can do just fine. Unless...of course...they're running Cronus devices or other DMA cheats that put them in the top slots with stupid KDR and infallible aim... Nah. Nobody cheats in FPS gaming.
You’re missing my point. I never said console players can’t win or finish at the top. A good player can overcome a disadvantage; that doesn’t prove the playing field is equal. Seeing controller players in your top five doesn’t settle whether crossplay is balanced for the average console player.
My concern is how differences in hardware performance and input affect the everyday experience, especially for casual players. Bringing up Cronus or other cheats is a separate issue. Cheating should be addressed on every platform, but you don’t need to be cheating to have a competitive advantage.
I’m asking EA for better matchmaking options, including console-only crossplay and input-based matchmaking. “Some console players do fine” doesn’t address that concern.
