Most pvp focused games will never allow Linux support for obvious reasons.
Stop trying to make linux a thing. It will never be mainstream.

You clearly don't know anything about what are you talking about.
Most of the online games today works smoothly on Linux.
Only games with battle eye anticheat doesn't work.
And MapleStory that half work from what I saw by other players.
Sniper elite franchise, valve games and many more works fine even better on Linux than on this **bleep** windows.

So, CS2, TF2, Overwatch 2, Insurgency, TF2, Apex Legends, PUBG intermittently, Dota 2 etc. aren't pvp focused enough?
This all boils down to the publisher's choice of using a kernel-level anti-cheat, something thata) Not reliable on Linux due to the open nature of the kernel.
and
b) Not wanted by the Linux community due to its invasive nature.
EA is fully capable of allowing it, but they won't.
BTW, Linux is already mainstream. It's the most widely deployed OS kernel in history.- Raansu862 months agoNew Ace
And every single one of those games are flooded with cheaters because they don't have good anti cheat. Especially valve games. VAC is a complete joke and may as well not even exist.
And Linux is not mainstream, no matter how much you want to pretend it is lol.

"Linux is not mainstream"
Except it's installed on more devices than any other operating system in history.
Windows, especially these past couple of years is a complete joke. Microsoft keeps pushing garbage breaking updates and hocking their crappy browser, cloud storage and AI integrations nobody asked for.
