To be fair, the class balance is broken and BF was not meant to be an open weapons game. Recon has taken a hit but thats been the case for years now. I do agree with most of what you posted as most games want recon to play as a frontliner but with abilities, skills, and weapons of a long range class or vise versa. Yes you can change weapons to better fit the map but it doesn't change the fact that other classes are better at it
Wrote a post trying to fix this issue (it would make more sense if you red the post as this is only a porrion of it): https://forums.ea.com/discussions/battlefield-6-general-discussion-en/open--closed-weapons-and-classes-fix/12657837
RECON will change his signature gadget to “laser designator” (will function the same). Weapon effect will be “reconnaissance” (this will allow recon to change an choose 2 visual options out of 3 options night (hope), thermal, and regular vision). Signature trait will change to “in the zone” (longer and steadier breath control which helps keep your aim steadier). This class will focus on gathering information and relaying it to their team.
Gadgets will mostly be the same but with an addition; motion sensor, C4, decoy, drone, tracer dart gun, claymore, and flares (this will spot enemies and allies alike in the area for vehicles and mortar) enemies and allies hiding behind cover will not be spotted. Would like to add a EMP version for dart gun or just replace it since laser designator has become the signature gadget.
SNIPER will keep its ability as UAV overwatch (shadows over a 100 meter radius, enemy spotting for 60 sec). Initial skill will change to “camouflage” (snipers uniform will match the background color of the field, wear a ghillie suit). Next skill will remain as target acquired (inflicting dmg on enemies spots them, marking their position in world and mini map). Final skill will remain as confirmed kill (enemies can't be revived from a head shot by a bolt action rifle). This path will focus on trimming down enemies from long range.
SPEC OPS will keep its ability as UAV overwatch. Initial skill will change to “stealth tactics” (reduce sound unless standing, quicker takedowns with melee weapons, and reduce movement speed penalty while squading). Next skill will remain as gadget awareness (spot nearby enemy gadgets unless sprinting). Final skill will change to “covert ops” (equip thermal resistant clothing, this will cover the body but not the head. Player will remain completely visible in regular sights or night vision but will be harder to spot under thermal). This path will focus on stealth and maneuvering behind enemy lines.
Ps sweet spot is not a bad mechanic, it actually makes sense but it needs better implementation, and glint doesn't need to be removed but it needs to make sense. How can a scope have glint when you are in a dark room, is fine if you are on a hill but otherwise its as bad or worst then auto spotting before the nerf.
