Controllers should not have soft aimbot. Remove it from the game. Every console can use MNK. If they want to use a controller fine, but they don't get soft aimbot. That will also make it far easier to ban people using soft aimbot programs and devices like cronus. Unless you think your players are too stupid to play on their own EA?
I said it elsewhere, but it's impossible to balance controllers vs m+kb.
Controllers NEED the assist, there is no other way around it, it's just not a good device for finely-tuned/high speed adjustments. So you implement a snap feature (what you call aimbot, and I guess there's a parallel to be made).
Question: how do you calibrate the snap assist? There are m+kb players out there that can bring their aim to your head in a fraction of a second and stay there even if the target moves at speed. Do you try to emulate that? There are other players that will more hesitant, overshoot when they bring to aim to bear too quickly, will find it difficult to follow player that weaves or jumps. Should that be the standard?
But of course, you want your console players to feel good about themselves, it wouldn't do for them to lose duel after duel. So you aim at the higher level. Which leaves average m+kb players like me extremely frustrated, because it is inherently unfair.
Of note, there is a real difference in your ability to move while aiming with m+kb and a controller. If I start jumping around while in a duel, it is genuinely difficult to maintain proper aim, especially when jumping sideways. With a snap, no problem at all. And the lower recoil and bloom means static duels at a distance are grossly in favor of controllers as well.
There is nothing good about pairing this system with m+kb players. Even if you calibrate it so on average, console players perform only about as well as m+kb players, you will constantly run into situations that simply feel unfair. And those are the ones you remember when you shut down the game in frustration.
