Got perma-banned after 6 years of clean play. What do I even do?
Hey everyone,
So yeah, I'm here because I honestly don't know what else to do anymore. I've been playing EA games for 6 years, spent real money on them, never had a single warning or suspension — and then out of nowhere, permanent ban on Battlefield 6.
Here's the wild part: I finished a completely normal game on March 18, 2026. Regular Conquest, nothing special. 13 minutes later — boom, permanent ban. Not a warning, not a temp suspension. Just straight to permanent.
Reason? "COMPETITIVE_ADVANTAGE." That's it. That's all they told me.
So I thought, okay, maybe there's a mix-up. I submitted a Data Request (SAR-2801221) to see what actually triggered this. Figured they'd at least show me what the system flagged, right? Nope. The file had my account info, some game history... and the same exact label: "COMPETITIVE_ADVANTAGE." No data, no logs, no explanation of what the game even thinks I did. Just a word.
Okay, maybe they missed something. So I submitted a second request a couple months later (SAR-2831956). Guess what? Same thing. Same label, same timestamp. Literally copy-pasted. So after two official data requests, I still have zero idea what I supposedly did.
The "appeal" process was a joke. I filled out the appeal form, got a template email back saying "correctly executed." That's it. No evidence, no details, just "we checked, you're banned." Great, thanks.
Then I tried the Privacy Office email ([edit: email address removed]) because, I mean, this is literally about them not disclosing why they automated-banned me. Sent two emails. Both got the exact same auto-reply telling me to go to the help center. There's no actual person on the other end of that email. It's just a bot.
Live chat? I finally got through to a real person. Told them straight up: "This isn't a ban appeal, this is a data protection issue. I need someone from the Privacy team to look at why my SAR came back empty." You know what they said? "Sorry, we can't escalate that. Please use the ban appeal form." The same form I already used. The one that sent me the template rejection.
So basically:
Ban appeal → auto-rejected template
DPO email → auto-reply bot
Live chat → "sorry, use the ban appeal form"
Privacy web form → submitted, but based on the pattern above, I'm not holding my breath
Here's why this actually matters for everyone, not just me: If their system can permanently ban a 6-year paying customer with literally nothing but a one-word label, and there's no actual human you can talk to about it, then none of us are safe from a false positive. Could happen to anyone.
I'm not here to beg the community to say I'm innocent. I can't prove I didn't cheat because I don't even know what I'm being accused of. That's the whole point. How do you defend yourself against a one-word label with zero evidence attached?
What I'm actually asking:
Has anyone else been in this exact situation? Did you find a way to reach a real human who actually looked at the data?
Is there any other escalation path I haven't tried? Because EA's official channels are just loops.
And honestly, EA, if you're reading this — how do you permanently ban someone and refuse to tell them what they did? That's not "competitive integrity," that's just opaque automation.
