Hybrid cross class weapons - suggestion
Hi just thought id ask, due to the disparity between the community and the games current class and weapons system, would a hybrid approach work rather than and outright class weapon type restriction or fully unlocked weapons set for the classes.
for example the assault class having access to weapon accessories or a restriction of the other accessories of the other classes, so lets say all underbarrel grenade launchers and all tactical attachments of the assault rifle weapon class are available to assault class, but a limited set availble to all other classes.
same with engineer, all explosive ordinace available to them, but every other class can have say max a low impact law and would be primarily for infintry explosives, enough for class flexibility but restricted enough for specialisation of the class.
for the recon, all of the recon/intel equipment and scopes, the eyes, ears, and voice perhaps a drone that makes rifle sounds that buzzes about an area. but all other classes are restricted to say up to 4x scopes.
and for the support, they are allowed bipods, they get enough from heals and ammo, and are more or less already a unit so make them the anchor.
this way each class main tool/gun could be the meta for that class(maybe regular meta changes to keep dynamics fresh and to find a settle point for the dynamics).
From structure to dynamics, from dynamics to chaos, from chaos to fun. making the system intune with all guns tools and each class allowing the reliance of each, but have enough inter weapon variability for choatic fun while still having each class easy to pick up an be straight forward right to the barrel of the gun.
in another way to think of it would be to have a base set of weapons and gadgets that every class can use, but have each class allow the meta set of weapons that can be focused on for competitive play. now you have two different test beds for player tools and weapons, generic and focused. limit the amount of focused tools and weapons so that you can dial right into balance for the focused group, and experiment with the generic group. yay symetry of chaos and order in a vidja game yaaaay
probs a post about this but i could find anything about something this specific and of course is but a humble opinion.
