It's been 9 days since Battlefield 6 launched, and hundreds of loyal, long-time players are still locked out of their accounts due to what appears to be a false detection from EA's anti-cheat system.
We're not cheaters. Many of us have been playing Battlefield for over a decade, some are parents, veterans, Battlefield Labs testers, players who've supported this franchise for years. Yet after just a few hours of fair play, we were banned without explanation.
Then came the so-called "investigation email", the same copy-paste response sent to everyone: "We confirmed your account was involved in cheating." No details, no proof, just a generic template. The next day, the "ban" suddenly disappeared from our Penatly History page, which is now completely empty. So which is it, EA?
AntiCheatWard , EA_Bia , EA_Leeuw , EA_Mako , EA_Rtas ... why are you all silent?
There's a top-voted thread in the Bug Reports section, with hundreds of replies and upvotes, and still not a single official comment. At this point, I've read so many forum posts about this that I'm starting to feel like a veteran of the EA Forums myself.
EA, you could at least show some integrity and communicate with your players. If certain third-party programs (like harmless gaming tools such as Logitech G HUB, MSI Afterburner, or RGB software) trigger false detections, then warn players before banning them permanently. A simple message like: "This software is not supported. Please disable it before launching the game." would prevent this entire mess.
But instead, your anti-cheat system jumps straight to permanent account bans, treating honest customers like criminals.
And to those posting the usual "haha cheater" or "good riddance" comments spare us, don't strain your brain cells with ragebait comments. This isn't about cheaters. This is about hundreds of innocent, loyal players being punished for nothing.
And the biggest question remains:
Why can't EA simply acknowledge that there's a problem with its anti-cheat system?
Why is it so hard to say, "We see this issue, we're investigating, and we're working on a fix."?
That's all the community is asking for, honesty, transparency, and basic communication.
We are not demanding miracles, we are demanding respect.
EA, it's time to speak up.
Sincerely,
LevMcMichael - your still loyal (and currently banned) customer 😉
