Are you familiar with reWASD? it’s a tool that allows you to map keyboard inputs to a controller. I use it exclusively for a game called Squad, which is primarily designed for keyboard and mouse and it’s only active when I’m playing that game. But Battlefield 6’s anti-cheat banned me simply because reWASD was installed on my PC. That alone tells me a lot about EA’s priorities.
At first I was annoyed and wished I’d bought the game on console. Then I was angry at the cheaters who force these extreme anti-cheat systems. But after looking into other people’s experiences, my view changed completely.
EA has a track record of:
Using flawed anti-cheat systems
Banning players without proper evidence
Refusing to investigate when people ask for proof
One case even showed someone being permanently banned based only on another player’s accusation. EA only reversed it when someone else provided video proof. Without that, an innocent customer would have lost their whole account.
After seeing this, I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet. I’m not interested in funding a company that treats paying customers like that.
Meanwhile, Squad gives me everything Battlefield players keep asking for:
Realistic movement and gunplay
Better maps
No silly cosmetics
No microtransaction pressure
No intrusive ads
A far better community
Players who actually communicate
And a better experience that doesn’t punish you for having harmless software installed
So if the choice is between keeping reWASD for Squad or trying to play Battlefield 6 under EA’s system, the decision is easy.
I’m sticking with Squad. Battlefield 6 can go.
