RanzigeRidder here 👋 My battlefield carreer started with the OG Battlefield 1942 on PC somewhere in 2003. At the time I also started the OG Call of Duty where I would play BF1942 for the multiplayer and CoD for its campaign.
In the meantime I moved from PC to Playstation on which I played games like 007 and Medal of Honor. At that time I was more interested in singleplayer and co-op campaigns. So I also stuck with CoD and played World at War, Modern Warfare 1 & 2. The latter sparked my interest for multiplayer. So when in 2011 Battlefield 3 released I switched back to the Battlefield franchise and got completely hooked. Bought the premium pass to get as much of the experience as possible.
Meanwhile I had gotten 2 colleagues at work who also liked the genre and together we started playing Battlefield 4. And that's when I saw the true potential of teamwork and what BF had to offer. Colleagues became true friends
Together we moved into BF1. Where my completionist side drove me to start collecting as much of the dogtags as possible. So I started participating in FNB to get that dogtag. Which I eventually indeed got from you Sawtooth75 . It was also then and because of the dogtags I stumbled upon the Answers HQ forum. However I was not a very active poster back then.
When BFV was announced, and the whole controversy and especially how some EA/Dice people dealt with that, it made us decide to not pre-order anymore. Eventually we still picked up the game at launch and this was also the time we joined an international clan. Together with fellow Europeans and Americans we had a lot of fun and banter in BFV. Until EA/Dice suddenly pulled the plug after the addition of War in the Pacific, and with that breaking their tides of war promise. Unfortunately it also meant the break-up of our clan, as there was nothing to fill the void. So like many others we started playing Warzone.
Disappointed in the broken promise me and my friends decided to leave BF2042 for what it was. Also because the way they abandoned the classic BF formula with classes and made it into a hero shooter. So no pre-order, no buy at launch. Eventually we picked up the game at a discount more than half a year after launch. As me and my friends all had moved to different jobs and companies we used BF2042 as vehicle to have weekly playsessions to catch up, have a chat and a laugh.
Somehow I also came back to the Answer HQ forums and became a lot more active on those, and here we are now on the new forum.
Whereas my friends have abandoned BF2042 my completionist side kept me playing, and I'm glad that the game improved a lot including the reintroduction of the class system. Does it make it a good Battlefield? No, still the worst entry in the series I've played!
Which brings me to my expectations for Battlefield 6. To avoid disappointment I expect nothing to be honest. From what I've seen and heard so far gives me hope though. Hope that we will get a classic Battlefield that pays tribute to its roots and heyday. What I want and don't want I've already covered in another thread here. Again, I'm not going to pre-order and will wait with buying until after launch. My decision to purchase yes or no will depend heavily on that and what I see and experience from BF Labs, the MP reveal, the open Beta and the final product and its reviews by the community. I have one expectation for Battlefield 6 though, if it fails to deliver it will be the end of my Battlefield carreer and possibly the end of the franchise as a whole. This is your final chance to get it right EA/Dice!
RanzigeRidder2 The link to your other thread was broken; I fixed it there for you. :)

Thanks for that!🙏 I already had to edit the post myself because I noticed after posting some numbers (years) were changed into * and a @ mention was also gone.
