Is it just me?

or has the game become much worse since the latest update? What I mean is that it feels like most weapons don’t seem to do enough damage against opponents anymore. I thought the game was working pretty well before the update, but now the gunplay feels alot worse!

The weapons I’m used to playing with now feel completely useless. I mainly use AR weapons like the M4 and KORD. They work at very close range, but beyond 10 meters they feel almost pointless.

I’ve tried every possible alternative and tested countless different weapon setups and combinations, but nothing feels the same as it did before the update. The gunplay just doesn’t feel right anymore.

I’ve played Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 for thousands of hours, so I know how the weapons should feel. Before this update, the game felt much better, but these changes have made it so frustrating that it actually makes me not want to play anymore.

Was this update made mainly to help less experienced players compete with high-skilled players? Because it feels like the skill gap has been reduced, and the weapons no longer reward accuracy, experience, and good aim the way they used to.

  • No, it is not just you. It is some terrible combination of netcode, how Console players interact with the game and weapons against PC players, even the setups on some of these Season 4 weapons no matter the attachments are not great.

Speaking of the M4, I have noticed from Season 2 to current 4 they have altered that weapon to the point that outside of 10m the gun is worthless unless you have strong aim assist as a Console player. The same thing is true of multiple weapons that are mid-range capable for Console players but do not have the same characteristics for PC players.

  • S4 did a number on the hitreg and netcode.  The damage model changes, in most cases, change the damage you need by a single bullet on 90% of weapons.  If you are insanely attentive maybe you can feel this change that occurs one out of 20 gunfights.

But honestly it's the netcode and hitreg.  I'm sending hundreds of bullets into people, on target, bullet trail goes through them, but no hit.  I have bullets hitting walls behind people, as if I'm shooting through them, and no hits.  I'll even get hit markers and sound, but no damage is applied.

This is made about 10x worse when the other player is a console or CN cheater.  Consoles, for any myriad of reason, are getting a clear advantage in terms of connection to the servers.  I don't know if this is purposefully designed, or because the consoles are just laggier due to being too weak to play BF6 and it causes server lag.  Maybe it's just because EA hates PC players, who knows.

CN players abuse the lag advantage they get by using a VPN to get into regions they shouldn't.  The fastest and best solution is to lower the ping limit so people with a ping over, say, 120 just get kicked from matches.  Of course spoofers exist too, but those at least need a bit more effort to work with than these dollar a dozen VPN services.

  • It’s definitely 💯 way worse ! I played a few rounds today and pretty much convinced myself I’m done with BF6 ! Like almost 24 years ago BF 1942 had 50 times more hit reg and ran 100 times smoother !!

  • Pc gaming is pay 2 win.

Consoles mostly play with same hardware, the way competitive anything is played

Between the bloom and the limbs multiplier, some weapons can indeed feel worst. I'm finding I'm only able to have success nowadays with either something stable with a very high fire rate or those weapon with 34 damage, anything else feels underpowered.

Note it's also really hard to change habits. At ranges where I could full auto, the weapon behaves the same - or even more stable thanks to the removal of the random recoil - but the results are very different. It's hard to integrate bloom when it was largely absent before, you get very few visual cues, so you don't feel the need to tap fire. But try to tap fire closer than you normally would, and at least you'll be hitting again.

Personally, I just wished they had entirely replaced bloom by random recoil. Others did not like it, but at least I had a clear visual indication of where my shots were going.

    Update 1.3.3.0.

For All Primary Weapons (ARs, LMGs, SMGs, Snipers)   Slower & Higher Drag, Every primary weapon bullet slows down 40% faster over distance. Equipping Match Grade ammo doubles this drag penalty (100%)... Yes it is literally designed to do the exact opposite of what DICE programmed it to do in the game.

Less Limb Damage - Shots to arms, legs, and lower torso deal less damage.

More Bullet Bloom - Random recoil is reduced, but bullet spread increases much faster during full-auto fire to encourage tap-firing.

    For Snipers Specifically --

Shrunken "Sweet Spots": The range where a bolt-action rifle guarantees a one-shot torso kill was made significantly smaller on almost all sniper rifles (except the Mini Scout). This whole mechanic should just be removed.

    -----

Bugged Velocity: The travel time randomly changes. Sometimes a 700m shot takes the full 3 seconds (so slow you think you missed and almost shoot again) and the very next shot connects instantly like it's a hitscan, literally the second you pull the trigger.

Broken  / Worse Hitreg: Bullets are constantly sparking off targets or phasing straight through stationary, prone enemies without doing damage.

  • I've had round after round of bullet sponge situations, being shot through walls, and some weapons being so weak, there's no point using them at all.

Unsure what's happening since the latest update, but the new changes seem to have damaged something.
