Is it me getting older or is it too fast

Battlefield 6 feels way too fast-paced for me, and it leaves me feeling extremely stressed when I play. I try to be tactical, but it seems impossible. I set up a solid bunker, mount my machine gun, and wait for the enemy waves, but less than a second after an enemy appears, I'm instantly dead. On the rare occasions I get to shoot at them, I only manage a few shots before being killed. It also feels like machine guns deal much less damage compared to assault rifles and carbines, which everyone seems to be using now. The game really needs to slow down a lot. For example, people running around and snapshotting instantly shouldn't work. One solution could be to greatly reduce accuracy while moving and for a moment after stopping. This would encourage more tactical play, and not everone running around like their pants are on fire.

There should be a little protection on stationary guns, get killed way too fast.  It should be able to pin a group of people down with it's heavier ammo, but that's not the case.

But it’s not really enjoyable. It’s cooling you like it, but the game is not good.

  • The actual gameplay doesn't feel different other than people trying to bunny hop but its not as effective as it is in COD. I think the issue that makes it feel significantly more fast paced is map size. Most of the maps in the beta are super close quarter and you will have a difficult time holding down a position. I think the map sizes are a lot of people's complaints on the moment and definitely I think not the games strong point, but that's what betas are for.

And not sure if you are playing on a console, but the snapping is probably just mouse/keyboard players since the game has crossplay. On console you can turn off crossplay which maybe save you from us.

  • I dont think so.. the stupid bunny hopping and sliding is annoying to me and needs to be decreased on speed for that. But I've seen things where the running speed is slower than even battlefield 4 and the ttk seems to be good the more I play it.

It’s not you. I've been playing competitive shooters on PC since 2002, starting with CS 1.5. I stepped away from competitive play in 2008 and then shifted to semi competitive play in CoD and BF. The game design today is engineered to deliver maximum dopamine in short bursts, but the downside is burnout, and it happens quickly.

You’re already beginning to see signs of that, which I’m sure their teams of analysts are well aware of by now. How many players leave the lobby the moment the Empire maps loads? Behind the scenes they’re starting to feel the pressure.

  • I'm 66 years old and have no problem running and gunning down the enemy on a good day. I have many bad rounds also, but it's all fun and games to be enjoyed and not to be taken seriously.
