Lack of enemy footstep sounds

We went through this in 2042 for 2 years and miraculously the last time I played 2042 to get the BF6 skins, after not playing for a long time,  the enemy footsteps were noticeably better and were reliably consistent.

So please don’t tell me it’s my headphones or my hardware. I’ve tried numerous sound settings in BF6 and still have enemy players miraculously appearing right on top of me without making any sounds. With the same hardware and headphones I can hop on 2042 right now and have reliable and consistent enemy footsteps.

There are games 10 to 20 years old that have better and more consistent enemy footstep sounds.

Tanks are pretty quiet as well. They're huge machines. They should make a lot of noise even when idling in one spot.

  • Maybe the people appearing on top of you were camping there or crouch walked when they heard you. I can almost perfectly track people through buildings and before they come around corners, so I think it is probably good enough or too loud for my taste.

  • running i can hear perfectly , but its the rest of sounds normal walking = zero noise crouching i can understand needs to be quiet , but walking and running should be noticeable

It’s really frustrating — you can’t hear enemies at all. Even when you’re ADS, an opponent can sprint up and knife you and you won’t hear them coming. That’s just not well implemented.

It was already like that in the beta, and I was hoping it would be fixed. Now I’m still hoping.
