How would that make any sense? Engineer has never had C4 in the history of Battlefield. Assault I could see, but I feel like Support has always had C4 as their signature explosive.
They did in BF2042. And engineer is now the equivalent of support of older Battlefield titles, while support has taken over the medic role/part of the role that assault had in BF3&4. The classes have changed so much, the name support is the only thing that stayed the same. So asking for modern support to have C4 makes no sense.

Engineer is nowhere near the Support of older classes. Engineer has always had launchers, mines, and repair tool, while Support has only had C4. As a Support player in previous titles, Engineer has never interested me one bit.

Never? BF1, BFV and BF2042 all don't exist to you?

I even perfered the specialist in BF2042 who could call down an entire supply crate to endlessly resupply himself with C4, to the current classes in BF6

Even in BF2042 it was still possible to play a specialist that provided ammo which ment that you could fulfil the same role as the support in previous titles. Also just because it's changed in one game doesn't justify them changing the classes from the classics such as BF3/BF4.
