If the teams are unbalanced by 1 player, the game is pretty much done the majority of the time. I've noticed that most of the servers aren't completely full, all the objectives get capped and the team with the fewer players gets spawn-trapped and then several players leave making the problem worse. I just played a game with 24 v 32 players. Back in BC2 and later, the rented server admins would run team balancers so that rarely happened. Since EA got rid of the rented servers, team balance has been dreadful and DICE have done very little about it.

no brother. they "tried" to implement team balancers in BC2 and would get attacked for doing so. And when I say attacked, I mean the berating never stopped in their server chat or on the forums, the server attacks lagging their servers were relentless. And ever since the early cs days its why most people don't think its worth it to host their own servers. It was not EA's choice, they resent having to run them themselves, but the avg person can't protect against massive ddos attacks. Which is inevitable if you running a good server. This is real talk.
Every server I know in my area, never used the shuffle cause when they tried, it was shot down. Even though Its something that the old cs and bf2 communities always did. And it truly is the only solution to what you describe. The game industry's solution of punishing quitters is the worse thing they could do. But they insist on pretending that these ranked systems are not undermined by anonymous accounts and pretend people take it seriously. W/L in these mmr's is basically meaningless. cause you either get stomped or do the stomping to keep you 50/50, and it feels unnatural and unsatisfying and basically its straight up fake and everyone knows it.
It would be nice to have actual competitive organized team matches, but that will never happen like it did in the old tw08 or cs 1.6 days, because of the above issue I described. you can't ban players too good from your servers without the gov't turning a blind eye as they destroy them in retaliation. But because of what you describe, the teams need to be at least actively shuffled to account for the anonymous accounts and people quitting and joining. I mean this is what we call a pub so I don't see the issue. This is not an organized team event is the point. But the rant during the BC2 days, which NEVER happened later, so not sure where you live or what world you are in that was different than my experience, but the shuffling teams mod was tried and ended with bc2 in my world. And it was that people wanted to play with their friends. Literally thats what wwould be spammed in chat and on the forums, and these admins caved under the pressure "I want to play with my friends". And that is the entitled wokey ideology, that just wrecks everything in its path. They think its immoral if people who are too good are not allowed to play with you.
So we can't even have a separate option for a competitive match, because how dare we try to segregate, so they feel entitled to ruin it for us. And that is really why they exist. Their whole point in acting they way they do is to undermine a competitive match, everything other justification they claim is just a distraction. So if they were going to get balanced on even and sporting teams, it enrages them. Their whole point in being there, is to stop that from happening.
