mortar points on carrier

I've been hitting the enemy carrier with mortar barrage through the entire match and I see the carrier taking damage, but at the end of match I don't get any points for dealing damage to the carrier.

I understand that mortars will deal damage to the carrier, so even if small amount I should get points?
