I recently unlocked it and I was excited to use it for attacking on breakthrough to open the way. My god was i disappointed. It basically does nothing. And you can't use it at the times where ut would be highly effective.
Honestly, these devs dont know what they're doing. The maps are generally poorly designed and so are the gadgets and weapons.
I can respect balance for a fairer game. But this is dogshet. Mortars are supposed to be effective. They dont call it over the top for nothing.
All-in-all, they're nerfed to bits. Theres duck all damage. Shet accuracy. You get zapped by a gae sniper drone. You're marked on the map. You can't use them because of blue zones, especially for Breakthrough attacking, which is broken and would balance things out for attackers. And like others have mentioned, you're taken out from your support and objective capping duties.
Honestly, just remove them from the game at this point and call it a day. Its useless. A waste of precious materials.
I thought the same way at first but after awhile I figured out ways to use it better. It atleast doesn't kill you anymore when a drone destroys it. But as far as breakthrough even when attacking i average 20+ kills by setting up right next to the objective. Works well when you're using smoke and your team actually attacks the objective. Also getting tons of kills with it isn't always important, it works well if you drop rounds all over the objective making it hard for them to stay in and defend it, making enemy troops behind cover move so infantry or vehicles can take them out. You just have to use it for awhile and figure out different ways to use it
