There is a server browser. The existing server browser shows you available servers that aren't matchmake instances (which constantly change).
When you say you want a server browser added it probably would help if you communicated what you want. If you ask for something to be added which already exists (at least by those words), what do you expect to change?

Hello FocusGoldBC,
Hard to believe something like this will happen for Battlefield 6, maybe some other Battlefield game in the future.

I think when they ask for a server browser, people also ask for dedicated official servers that do not exists as instances but rotate maps

"I think when they ask for a server browser, people also ask for dedicated official servers that do not exists as instances but rotate maps"
TLDR: That already exists. I think people just like to complain instead of taking the time to realize that what they want already exists and they are too lazy to use what they claim they want. They act like a server browser should be AI that predicts what every person wants and should not take any effort to search or filter. They will never get what they want, because it is impossible to please them; and instead what they really want is to complain about how much they hate matchmaking and at the same time refuse to stop using matchmaking.
If you look at BattleFieldOfficial, you will see that their experiences are listed in the portal server browser. Hardcore conquest, hardcore rush, hardcore breakthrough, infantry breakthrough, closed weapon breakthrough, closed weapon conquest, bomb squad, ace pursuit v2, gibraltar gambit, etcetera, etcetera. They have 16 different experiences to choose from, and a huge variety of servers for each of those experiences.
They do have a mechanism of highlighting that content on the main page and letting people join into an existing server in a smooth way, but it isn't matchmaking. It kind of feels like matchmaking, but is different. There is too much content to highlight on the main page of the game, so just some is presented at any time. The rest of their content you need to find using the server browser, just like any other creator's community content. Once you do, you will see that BattleFieldOfficial is just one source; there is so much more from so many other people. Lots of it is crap and broken old bot farms, but a lot of it isn't. You need to use the server browser, like any server browser you have ever used before, to filter out the content you want to see.
I think an unavoidable problem is that matchmaking servers are not conducive to being in a server browser. From my understanding, they are instances which constantly change as needed. A matchmake server could be breakthrough of a certain map one round with cross-play off and only playstation users, and then the next round it is cross-play on in conquest of a different map. Maybe one round it is gauntlet, the next round it is redsec, and the following round it is breakthrough. It is cross-play on, then it is cross-play off. It shifts as necessary for changing demand in different areas. If you search for a specific map, in a specific mode, with or without cross-play, an existing empty matchmake server closest to you may suddenly switch to what you want in order to host the game you wanted.
I don't think a server browser can support that. You can't place those servers into a server browser, because by the time you see them in the server browser, scroll through, decide which one you want to pick, and join it, it may now be a totally different server. I don't think that would be an experience people would enjoy and embrace. Instead, they would complain about the server browser "bug".
For that reason, if someone says what they want is matchmake servers in a server browser, they are being unreasonable. But if they say they want official servers in a server browser, that already exists. They just need to choose whether they prefer matchmaking, using an algorithm they don't control, or browsing for servers.
So, maybe what you are really saying is that you wish EA would create more BattleFieldOfficial servers in the server browser for people to join. It would need to be a fixed server, not a matchmake server, like all other community servers. Are the servers that BattleFieldOfficial has already published not good enough? Is the variety lacking? Or what is the problem?
I think the thing that was stated as being wanted, already exists. There's no reason to add more if no one uses the server browser. A lot of those servers are empty.... Maybe you just need to start using the server browser which DOES EXIST to join a server.
The official servers with 100% xp are in the server browser. No one plays them. Should more be added? Would that fix it?

danisoff It already exists in BF6.

The server browser exists for portal. I'm referring to a server browser like we had in Battlefield 4, this is what the community in general refers to when mentioning a server browser Ty_Ger07.
For me the issue runs deeper with the absence of server rentals, as we had in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. This topic is closely tied to the points mentioned above, I have written about this in the past extensively.

I too have written extensively on this. I think you are mistaken.
Yes, I understand. Official servers inside a server browser, yes? That exists in BF6 currently. I just described some of what exists, in this thread, in many paragraphs, with pictures, 5 hours ago.
Please detail what in BF3 and BF4 doesn't exist in BF6. Besides the ability to rent a server and some admin controls, what is missing? You now get most of those admin controls and many servers, for no extra cost.
Matchmaking and browsing servers are competing methods. Both exist in BF6.
Saying the server browser exists "in Portal", is a strange statement. Portal (relating to BF) isn't a game. Portal is a website where you upload content. There is no server browser in Portal. The server browser exists in the game, not Portal, in the community section. All servers that aren't matchmake servers are in the community section and are visible in the server browser under their applicable filters.
From my perspective there are primarily 2 things BF6 is missing related to a server browser.
- Whatever messaging or outreach is necessary to cause people to stop believing that a server browser is absent.
- Whatever incentive or motivation is necessary to cause people to use the server browser, that most definitely exists, to join official servers, that most definitely exist. And likewise, challenge and weapon unlock incentive to utilize the server browser to join games that aren't official.
You can see that everything anyone has so far said that they are missing, already exists. What am I missing?
I think it may be a generational thing. Or simply laziness. Or simply wanting something to complain about. I'm not sure.
danisoff , I don't know what a Hero+ is, but I hope that you will assist in spreading true information, rather than perpetuating the belief that so far whatever people have described in this thread as a BF6 desire, doesn't already exist in BF6.
If you said that you don't like the BF6 server browser because it gives you too many options, I can get behind that. If you said that the grindy BF6 game mechanic created too many garbage and broken xp farm and afk servers which should now be deleted, I agree. But to pretend that the content from past games and abilitity to find it in BF6 doesn't exist, suggests that you never tried looking for it. The content you miss still exists, you are now just more reliant on filters to find it, because the default everything filter will give you more garbage than past games due to the incentive that created that garbage in BF6.

Please read the last post closely. I understand that you’re trying to present your view, but take the time to consider the bigger picture and what is actually being called for Ty_Ger07.
I will refrain from further commenting, as the conversation appears to be heading in a less constructive direction.

A vague belief with no concrete explanation of what you want, will get no one anything.
I believe the servers in BF3 and BF4 also exist in BF6. I also believe that all the functionality (and more! ....mining data about other servers from the same creator, how many servers are online, how many people total are playing in all the servers, and everyone's version of the same server, who they are, and what name and description they chose....) of the server browsers in BF3 and BF4 exist in BF6. If you don't want to discuss specifics, I don't know what anyone expects to change.
Maybe the existing server browser has too many options? Maybe it is too powerful? Maybe someone needs to create an Instagram or TikTok video explaining how to use it? Is that what we have come to? Maybe they need a check box that says "official" to only show verified-mode servers with full XP, because it is too hard to click 3 things and use a filter? Is that what we have come to? But then, you just don't care about all the other creators who spend a week making something cool and get no representation unless highlighted in social media?
The only negative direction of this discussion is an apparent attempt to stop the discussion.
I hope we can at least agree that there is a server browser, official servers are in the server browser, and matchmake servers aren't in the server browser for good reason. The first two things are fact, and God help the developer who attempts to add matchmake servers to a server browser and faces the wrath of players who join servers that no longer are what they used to be.
