Pro + What Could Be Better + Contra + What I'd Like to See
Pro (that is new):
- Movement feels dynamic and alive
- Detailed maps (especially compared to 2042)
- Weapons feel balanced
- Armored Vehicles aren't OP
- Pull & Revive system works well
- Soldier designs look good, though Pax Armata is borderline overdesigned (neon triangles, anti-slip metal look knee pads)
What Could Be Better:
- Engineers carry too many RPGs, but deal too little damage, and still get out-repaired by enemy Engineers
- Revives: remove "Hold E" or "Spacebar to skip", instead make players revivable for 10s while already showing the respawn screen, allowing them to spawn instantly (with the basic cooldown ofc) if they want or hold spawn and edit their loadout
- Shotgun is slightly too strong, goal should be to encourage active SG play without dominating
- 3D Spotting is too powerful, feels like everyone is permanently marked
- THRM launcher is fine, but movement slow-down after being hit is excessive
- Sniper bullet drop feels too forgiving, even if we only play Conquest sized maps right now
- Squadmates stay "in combat" too easily and for too long
- Poor feedback when you actually revive someone
- Defib range feels too short, you need to stand inside your teammate to revive
Contra (yes, it's a Beta):
- Hit registration is horrible, often feels likes only every second hitmarker counts
- Weapon categories should be locked to their class (except carbines and maybe DMRs), tired of "Support hilltop sniper spammers" already
- Support should only have Med Packs, Engineer should be able to carry Ammo Packs
- Support role itself feels off, it has always been doing medic things and should stay Medic only therefore
- Some Conquest maps feel more like oversized Domination (too small, though it's "only" Conquest)
- Bridge/Rooftop glitch on Cairo
- TOWs are useless due to poor placement
- Buildings collaps too easily / take too much damage
- Jet vs. Jet/Heli TTK is way too fast, no real chance to fight back or dogfight
- UI feels clunky and unintuitive (sadly a trend in modern games)
- Attachment points are silly; having to drop a suppressor just to carry essential ammo for a headshot multiplier feels unnecessary. Just balance the attachments properly and avoid oversaturating them like in BF4
- Too much sunlight/reflection, maiking it often hard to see into the distance
- Reflex sights look off, the red dot (and holo) is too large and blurry, while the lens itself isn't clear enough (realism aside)
- Hitboxes are poorly modeled in some areas
What I'd Like to See (if not already planned):
- Bring back Service Stars so players can dedicate to a weapon or class
- Bring back Ribbons to make matches feels more rewarding
- Bring back Hardcore servers (Portal will split the player base too much over time anyway [curse and blessing])
- Bring back weapon pickups (.50 bolt-action or drum-mag grenade launcher fun factor)
- Keep destructible environments but also bring back Levelution (floodes complexes, collpasing towers, etc.)
<!> Attention <!> I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the small maps, and I think that’s almost misleading. In the Beta we only have limited access to maps, since it’s primarily meant for testing. There will definitely be large Conquest maps, they’re just not available in the Beta. What I would like to see though is Conquest and Conquest (Large) as separate modes, instead of having to deselect half the maps in just the Conquest mode.
